The Lansing Board of Water & Light (BWL) has an opening for a Laborer in Lansing, MI, as part of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers, AFL-CIO, Local Union 352.

 

Starting Pay Rate: $28.40 Attach. A1, 1/85: $25.30 Attach. A1, 7/00: $21.09

 

 

Position Summary:

Responsible for washing and disinfecting BWL fleet vehicles and equipment, assist equipment mechanics, clean up maintenance area, and any other labor function as requested.

 

Essential Functions:

Safely cleans and disinfects BWL vehicles and equipment, responsible for disinfecting all Motor Pool vehicles and equipment on a routine basis, assists equipment mechanics with mechanical repairs; sweeps floors; empties trash containers; assists with parts pickup; operates forklift; uses hand and power tools; performs other duties as directed. Performs other duties related to job responsibilities as assigned or directed. Required to follow BWL safety manual rules and wear the required personal protective equipment.  Attends all training for safety awareness and skills improvement as required by supervisor, BWL, or government agency such as MIOSHA.
