GOVERNMENT AFFAIRS SENIOR MANAGER

Job Overview

The candidate will join TE Connectivity's Global Government Affairs Team to support the shaping of policies through strategic partnerships with government and industry groups aligning with business objectives. They serve as company liaison and interact with EU and national government officials to advance the company priorities. They prepare policy briefings, policy analysis, provide guidance, recommendations to the business and drive active company participation in government forums and industry groups to advance TE business priorities.

Tasks and Responsibilities

You will be joining a global team of Government and Public Affairs management professionals. You will aim at being a business enabler in supporting TE Connectivity internal customers in strategic European, Middle East and African countries with a focus on Germany and Central & Eastern policy initiatives to help deliver on TE business growth objectives in the region. You will support EMEA Sr. Director Government Affairs & Global Corporate Responsibility team to help achieving TE’s strategic objectives aligned with TE’s regional business leaders and corporate-led functions so to deliver value to the business.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Support shaping and implementing public policy advocacy plans to advance TE’s agenda with decision-makers both at EU and national levels, be a business enabler to deliver strategic policy recommendations to the business related to industrial policies, geopolitics, manufacturing, defence, cyber, energy, sustainability and trade related policies.

  • Engage with Government stakeholders in key markets TE Connectivity serves (Central & Eastern European, Germany and North Africa) to continue building TE credentials and support the business.

  • Analyze, translate and monetize policy trends in business opportunities (electrification, mobility, etc.)

  • Identify proactively policy initiatives, regulatory trends and emerging policy risks and support business leaders, operations executives, product management, supply chain, etc., with timely guidance and operationalized mitigation / implementation plans.

  • Support strategic corporate responsibility programs and communities’ engagement.

What your background should look like

  • 6 - 8 years of proven professional experience in government affairs and public policies.

  • University / Master degree preferably in European studies, law, business administration, public administration or politics with strong analytical skills and operational capabilities.

  • Excellent communications skills in English (written, oral) a must, German (written, oral) a plus.

  • Strong ability to master business and industrial environment dynamics. Experience in technology / industrial manufacturing sectors preferred with a high level of integrity and ethics.

  • Excellent understanding of EU and Member States decision-making process, and regulatory environments with experience in navigating / engaging with external stakeholders governments and policy-makers as well as internal stakeholders.

  • Good understanding of geopolitics, EU industrial priorities, and their regulatory implementation needs.

  • Experience in working in a multi-cultural and complex cross-functional environments and ability to build relations, trust, be collaborative and to deliver creative and operationalized solutions.

  • Readiness to 20% travels across the region, and occasional intercontinental travels.
