Our Opportunity:

The Enterprise Public Relations team is part of the company’s Corporate Communications department, focusing on media relations, influencer engagement, message development, positioning, earned media analysis, and issues management to support the firm’s broad reputational and business goals.

We are looking for a Director to be responsible for executive social activation for the asset management business at Schwab. This role will interface directly with the President and CEO of Charles Schwab Investment Management to activate and evolve her presence/voice on social platforms.

The ideal candidate will have knowledge of the asset management industry, social media experience, strong/proven written and verbal communications skills, flexibility and adaptability in a fast-paced environment, strong organizational skills, attention to detail, the ability to work well within a team and autonomously, and a client-first attitude.

What you’ll do:

  • Translate your knowledge of the asset management space into meaningful and impactful content for media relations, social media and other external executive visibility channels.

  • Work with senior executive to help develop her voice for range of external communications.

  • Help develop and execute executive visibility plan via media relations, social media and events for senior executive at Charles Schwab Investment Management. This will include securing media interviews, speaking engagements, industry accolades and awards.

  • Write content for senior executive, including speeches, social media posts, talking points and more.

  • Help develop and execute comprehensive social media and influencer strategy for asset management business.

  • Develop a range of external communications materials including press releases, messaging, talking points, story pitch development, and content for national and local communications activities.

  • Cultivate and maintain relationships with social media influencers in the asset management industry.

  • Work with internal and external agency partners to develop impactful executive communication campaigns and activities.

  • Conduct ongoing social media tracking, analysis, and reporting for internal partners.

  • Cultivate and maintain relationships with a range of internal partners including social media channel owners, executive visibility, internal communications, events, marketing and business enterprise leaders and spokespeople.

What you have:

  • Bachelor’s degree and 8+ years communications functional knowledge

  • Asset management background preferred

  • Experience in planning and implementing social media programs and content, and in developing a highly impactful voice for executives on these platforms

  • Excellent writing/verbal communication skills

  • Strong interpersonal, analytical, problem-solving, influencing, prioritization, decision- making, and conflict resolution skills
