Our Opportunity:

The Independent Branch Services (IBS) team is responsible for the growth of the Schwab footprint though independent branches, the business results of the current independent branches, the management of risk, and the operations of the independent branch network. This broader geographic footprint will help Schwab's high-service, high-value brokerage model reach millions more investors. With more local points of contact Schwab will expand its strong national brand, capture a greater share of assets, and deliver our promise to retail investors.

The Franchise Sales team is accountable for the recruitment and signing of new Independent Branch Leaders. The Franchise Transition Manager will report to the Managing Director of Franchise Sales and partner closely with the Franchise Sales Directors (FSD) and Transition Managers. This role will also work closely with internal On-boarding and Operational organizations to ensure new franchisees are effectively supported as they transition to Schwab.

What you’ll do:

This position will be a critical role within the IBS Franchise Sales team. The role will execute a successful transition of financial advisors to IBS franchisees. You will be the main point of contact for financial advisors during their transition from their current broker dealer/RIA to Schwab/Independent Branch Services; from Discovery Day through Franchise Agreement signing. You will curate the financial advisors transition experience based on their unique needs and act as their advocate as you partner with the appropriate internal resources, and subject matter experts to meet those needs and execute the successful transition:

  • Developing a deep relationship with multiple transitioning financial advisors in order to understand their current practice, their current platform and the transition to Schwab’s platform, prioritization of their needs (including assessment of asset conversion needs, marketing, and other case specific needs).

  • Leverage relationship with financial advisor to apply your broad industry knowledge and specific knowledge of Schwab’s resources to the unique needs of the transitioning financial advisor to prioritize to meet the needs of financial advisor in transition

  • Serve as liaison and advocate to IBS operations, real estate partners, product groups, marketing, legal, finance and service/operations, FINRA supervision and Compliance and others to ensure alignment with Sales and Transition objectives

  • Develop relationships and be comfortable influencing a cross-departmental team with no reporting relationship

  • Partner with other team members to continually enhance the transition process and new franchisee experience

Additional responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:

  • Build and manage sales and transition reports

  • Support initial sales pipeline management as needed; including, initial qualifications, market vetting, and analysis

  • Other IBS Sales Team needs including, but not limited to, Discovery Days, webinars, group candidate calls, regional partner visits

What you have:

  • Ability to lead, influence and motivate resources outside of your own department to meet potentially intense deadlines

  • Excellent communication skills (written, verbal, decks), including ability to present, persuade, negotiate, and influence up and down the organization and directly with the franchisee

  • High degree of flexibility and comfort managing competing priorities

  • Familiarity with IBS franchise model a plus

  • Familiarity with financial services industry in addition to Schwab

  • Background working with CRM technology (Salesforce.com), including maintenance of reports and dashboards

  • 7+ years industry experience, preferably in financial advisor transition, recruiting/sales, operations

  • Series 7, 63

  • Flexibility to travel for IBS events (e.g. Discovery Day; Academy); into IBS markets; and/or industry conferences
