Our Opportunity:

As the Managing Director of HRIS, you will be responsible for enhancing and extending the application footprint for HR systems. You will be responsible for putting the people, process and applications in place that generate a world class user experience for employees interacting with HR activities. You will focus on defining a business-wide application strategy and driving multi-year execution of that strategy. You will include all aspects of strategy definition including partnering with all internal and external stakeholders to understand the information technology landscape that will meet the current and future needs of the organization and coordinating the execution of this strategy to deliver solutions that enable prioritized business objectives. You will be a thought leader in critical aspects of application delivery and must have the ability to influence senior leadership.

What you’ll do:

  • Drive the development for the HR Application footprint

  • Partner with Schwab Technology Services (IT) on the creation technology blueprint that ensures the necessary capabilities are available for HR.

  • Work closely with HR Business Partners, Talent Acquisition, Talent Management, Diversity, and Learning Solutions to provide to meet the needs of their strategic programs through HR applications.

  • Manage vendors and build relationships with SaaS providers that can help foster the capabilities and needs of Schwab’s HR function. Be an advocate for Schwab with large SaaS vendors in the HR space.

  • Develop, administer, maintain, and implement policies and procedures for ensuring the security, quality and integrity, and availability of the company's data and processes.

  • Lead a team of 3-4 direct report(s) responsible for preparation and delivery of complex HR functions. These functions include oversight of applications such as Workday, SumTotal and modern Learning Experience Portals, Applicant Tracking Systems.

  • Oversee a support organization that is responsible for system maintenance and problem resolution.

  • Implement and manage risk and control objectives that ensure the HR application space meets the standards of a highly regulated industry.

What you have:

  • 7+ years in HR, HRIS operations, system design and implementation

  • 5+ years’ experience with Workday or other SaaS HR systems

  • Ability to manage large SaaS vendors

  • Experience in implementing large scale HR application projects

  • Experience managing remote workers from diverse geographic regions

  • HRIS experience in an Agile delivery environment

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required:

  • Ability to communicate technical details to end users, and recommend to IT system functionality that best meets the needs of end users. Interpret and present in a clear, explainable usable form.

  • Clear and effective oral and written communications in both technical and non-technical formats.

  • Strong attention to detail ensuring data integrity.

  • Ability to inspire teams and build common vision

  • Experience managing remote workers from diverse geographic regions

  • Excellent analytical and problem solving skills

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Strong executive presence and ability to interact with top executives

Education:

  • Master's Degree preferred, Bachelor's required in business or related areas
