Our Opportunity:

The Vendor Monitoring and Oversight – Senior Team Manager is responsible for orchestrating the oversight and execution of the Third-party program. This includes negotiating and managing inter-affiliate (23B) and external relationships for the Banking and Trust Services to reflect accurate services and pricing, to monitor and ensure contractual commitments are fulfilled, monitor service delivery, and to appropriately assess risks, service issues, and/or regulatory compliance. The Senior Team Manager will follow a risk-based approach to third-party engagement and will play a key role in the overseeing the accuracy, efficiency, and quality of services contracted. Banking and Trust Services follows the three lines of defense model of risk governance. The Vendor Monitoring and Oversight – Senior Team Manager is a first line of defense position and assures compliance with all Bank policies and procedures, as well as all applicable state and federal banking regulations in the context of their responsibilities. Banking and Trust Services Outsourcing and Oversight Management (BOOM) team is expected to be ready and be able to work on assignments which may issue from anywhere in the BOOM organization, in addition to the specific duties listed in this job description. What you’ll do:

  • Provide end-to-end ownership of third-party risk management life cycle for Third Parties

  • Implement a risk-based engagement and monitoring approach to supplier management consistent with the Third-party Outsourcing Program, OCC guidance and Enterprise Risk Management policies

  • Develop risk based processes and methodologies in accordance with Banking and Trust Services policy, programs, standards, and expectations

  • Produce robust governance and oversight reporting consistent with risk taxonomy, executive, and program requirements

  • Execute the Third-party Risk Management lifecycle phases including planning, due diligence, negotiation, ongoing monitoring, and termination

  • Contribute to ongoing departmental third-party outsourcing program development and continual process improvement efforts

  • Maintain current regulatory expertise and develop strategies to ensure compliance

  • Maintain vendor repository

  • Identify, log and assess new and existing suppliers to determine risk exposure and monitoring needs

  • Maintain a comprehensive master repository of supplier information, types, and activity risk analysis for departmental use and governance reporting

  • Develop and manage annual schedule of program execution activities to ensure timely delivery of all ongoing monitoring deliverables

  • Oversee third-party ongoing monitoring according to the Third-party Outsourcing Policy

  • Drive completion of all third-party ongoing monitoring activities as outlined in the Third-party Outsourcing program

  • Assess third-party ongoing financial and commercial viability and identify associated risks

  • Monitor third-party performance for consistency with service level expectations

  • Develop mitigation strategies and plans as needed

  • Resolve relationship issues as necessary

  • Conduct Annual service review with the Banking and Trust Services Business Executives

  • Contribute to the oversight of the Third-party Outsourcing Program and Third-party Outsourcing Policy

  • Review and request refinement to existing policies and program materials

  • Manage the supplier management team to ensure that they follow Bank programs, policies and procedures

  • Build strong relationships with external and internal business partners to achieve goals

  • Partner with various departments such as legal, product management, compliance and Corporate Vendor Management to ensure successful negotiation of contracts and ongoing monitoring

  • Build strong working relationships with the inter-affiliate service providers as well as the external vendor account management teams

  • Provide representation for projects, audits and exams

  • Participate, track and oversee projects

  • Coordinate meetings between the project teams and the vendors

  • Work with Internal Audit for scheduled audits that involve the services provided by the internal or external third parties

  • Assist with federal banking regulator exams, including advance preparation and coordination of requested information

  • Ensure robust standard and special purpose reports are designed to provide the Board, Management and appropriate Risk committees with risk based information to evaluate third-party portfolio risk exposure

  • Provide periodic updates to the Board, Management and appropriate committees on the status of the monitoring activities

  • Provide leadership and supervision to a team of third-party management professionals

  • Hire, train, coach, develop and provide annual written performance feedback to all staff

  • Arrange for ongoing subject matter and regulatory training to ensure staff is current with regulatory issues and industry best practices

  • Lead annual employee engagement evaluations, reviews, and action plans. Consistently achieve high employee engagement scores

  • Ensure staff compliance with Bank policies and procedures, state and federal regulations

  • Effectively attract, grow and retain talent in support department and firm objectives

  • Other duties as may be assigned

  • The position of Banking and Trust Services Vendor Management – Senior Team Manager carries supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the Banking and Trust Services policies, and complies with all laws, rules, and regulations applicable to the position

What you have:

  • Expertise in financial regulations

  • 7+ years in Third-party Lifecycle risk management in a leadership role

  • Experience in negotiating high value, critical services contracts

  • Experience in developing and delivering executive level PowerPoint reporting

  • Ability to translate business needs into business requirements, and then implement

  • Understanding of Personal and Business Trust Products preferred

  • Bachelors Degree required; Advanced degree preferred
