Our Opportunity:

Billing Solutions Technology (BST) is part of the Schwab Technology Services organization with the primary objective of building technical solutions which gather asset and transaction data for purposes of generating invoices for our Schwab's clients.

BST QA is looking for a leader in defining innovative and effective software testing practices across a broad range of technology platforms. The group has established strong partnerships with both technology and business teams, as well as the centralized project services organization.

This position provides opportunities to work innovatively and collaboratively with business and technology partners to execute to Schwab’s vision to be the most trusted leader in investment services.

What you’ll do:

  • Identify automation test strategies and tools required to drive efficiencies for CTS products

  • Develop and implement Test Automation Frameworks for business critical products

  • Assist other automation engineers in maintaining the frameworks

  • Participate in all aspects of automation testing including establishing metrics, applying industry best practices and developing new tools and processes to ensure quality goals are met

  • Develop testing scenarios/cases to address areas such as database impacts, software scenarios, regression testing, boundary/negative testing, usability

  • Influence, develop and execute QA process and testing best practices

  • Drive continuous integration and deployment strategies leveraging tools like Jenkins/Bamboo with a DevOps philosophy

What you have:

  • 3-5 years of experience in building and maintaining test automation frameworks in a Java environment utilizing Ruby, Parasoft, Groovy etc.

  • Strong knowledge of Test Automation Frameworks

  • Strong programming background

  • Experience with open-source test automation tools

  • Strong analytical skills

  • Team player with excellent communication skills to partner technically with Application Architects, Development, QA/Testers and Business partners

  • Flexible driver of creative solutions who will thrive in a dynamic and emerging team

  • Experience working with resources in different geographical locations and offshore vendors

  • Experience in an Agile work environment

  • Understanding of BDD and TDD styles

  • A curiosity to understand and leverage new tools and technologies

  • Working knowledge of Selenium, Ruby, and Cucumber tools

  • Proficiency with testing web services using SOAP tools, Performance testing, experience in cloud computing a plus

  • Experience with financial services is a plus

  • Bachelors in Science in Computer Science or Masters in Computer Science
