Our Opportunity:

Schwab Compensation Operations is responsible for providing proactive consultation to partners across the company in order to centralize and administer Human Resource programs and processes with a focus on consistency and efficiency. The Senior Manager will partner with a variety of teams to process incentive payments, administer recurring compensation programs, and oversee compensation configuration needs within the Workday platform. This position will also interact with Legal, Finance, Accounting, and Payroll teams to implement incentive-based projects address compensation-related questions, provide reporting and analytics, and ensure data integrity across the firm.

What you’ll do:

This individual will:

  • Consult and collaborate with a variety of teams to craft solutions that consolidate workload, reinforce consistency, create efficiencies, mitigate risks, and manage projects.

  • Build strong relationships with key business partners to manage and resolve day-to-day information requests, technical issues, and long-term application upgrades and changes.

  • Administer ongoing programs that support the company’s Total Rewards philosophy.

  • Maintain and support the applications leveraged by the Compensation teams (i.e. MarketPay, Workday, Microsoft Access).

In addition, the individual must be able to work collaboratively across multiple locations and job levels, including with executive leadership. This position requires a self–motivated individual who grasps concepts quickly, takes ownership of projects and processes and handles stressful situations with poise.


  • 8+ years supporting HR programs, systems, and technology

  • Strong quantitative, analytical, and problem-solving skills

  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize a number of time-sensitive assignments

  • Strong team player with an aptitude to work in a dynamic environment

  • Passion for identifying and implementing scalable technical solutions to meet the needs of internal clients

  • A sense of fairness and equity with the courage to adhere to policies to drive fairness and consistency

  • Competence in building trust and confidence with internal clients while often delivering difficult messages and decisions

  • Must be able to partner effectively with multiple teams and management levels to achieve department goals

  • Ability to produce high quality, accurate results and work efficiently and accurately on multiple high-priority projects under tight deadlines

  • Comfort and proficiency in managing and manipulating large quantities of data with meticulous attention to detail and data integrity

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills required

  • Proficiency with Access and Excel required

  • Experience with Human Resource Systems (such as Workday, MarketPay, etc.) is a plus
