Netflix AV Localization Specialist (Motion Graphics) - UCAN in Los Angeles, California

The Opportunity

We are looking for an experienced AV Localization Specialist to join our UCAN Marketing Localization Production team. In this role, you are responsible for the Video Localization and Versioning of Netflix Marketing Audio/Visual assets such as Trailers, Featurettes, and Social media video posts. You should have a deep understanding of Post Production and Localization workflows for all formats in AV and Digital. You excel in managing a large volume of assets across multiple platforms in a high-speed, high-performance environment.

The Role

Reporting to the UCAN Sr. Manager Localization Post Production, you will join a team of Localization Specialists that manage the localization for Netflix’s AV Marketing campaigns worldwide.

Project Management:

  • Oversee end-to-end localization workflows using our internal video production tools and translation systems.

  • Comms with internal stakeholders and external vendors globally.

  • Collaborate with AV Producers and Marketing Operations on the Localization Strategy for global tentpole campaigns.

  • Assure internal and external production partners are up to date on brand guidelines and file specs for delivery.

  • Address critical QC notes and ensure all graphics are error-free before delivery.

Technical:

  • Motion Graphics expert who can be the lead advisor on execution for all Marketing Video platforms.

  • Localize, and deliver Marketing AV assets (trailers, promos, featurettes, Behind The Scenes, social content, etc.) for our cross-functional Marketing and Communications teams.

  • Technical liaison between AV production, Translations, QC, and Engineering teams.

  • Use our Proprietary tools, as well as After Effects, Cinema 4D, Illustrator, and Photoshop, to localize the original text graphics in up to 35 languages worldwide.

  • Use Premiere Pro to prepare XMLs for multiple file encoding.

  • Collaborate with development teams to find new opportunities in the tools and workflows.

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of Motion GFX animation or adaptation experience in an entertainment marketing agency, Broadcast Promo department, Post House, or in film or episodic TV work.

  • Expert knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite, with a focus on AfterEffects, Premiere, Illustrator, and Photoshop, Element 3D is a plus.

  • Expert knowledge of Cinema 4D.

  • Ability to pick up new software and tools quickly.

  • Expert knowledge of Typography and Fonts management.

  • Experience in AV post-production workflows. This includes current and upcoming standards, as well as best practices for codecs, frame rates, and HD, 4K deliveries.

  • Knowledge of best practices and specs for advertising on social channels like YouTube, Facebook, Instagram, and TikTok.

  • Knowledge of AV Finishing workflows: VFX (Compositing, tracking, rotoscoping), Color Correction, and Sound Mixing.

  • Knowledge of versioning Character Languages (Arabic, Hebrew, Thai, Korean) is a plus.

Our compensation structure consists solely of an annual salary; we do not have bonuses. You choose each year how much of your compensation you want in salary versus stock options. To determine your personal top of market compensation, we rely on market indicators and consider your specific job family, background, skills, and experience to determine your compensation in the market range. The range for this role is $70,000 - $370,000.

We also offer paid leave of absence programs. Full-time hourly employees accrue 35 days annually for paid time off to be used for vacation, holidays, and sick paid time off.
