Job Description

This role has multiple levels, open to candidates with at least 6 years related experience, or an MBD/JD and 3 years related experience. The successful candidate will be hired for the level of the position that aligns with their experience.

Negotiates, structures, underwrites, and closes equity investments that utilize New Markets Tax Credit (NMTC) and/or Historic Tax Credits (HTC) programs in market areas serviced by U.S. Bancorp Impact Finance. Manages relationships with customers and internal Business Development Officers in negotiating terms of investments, and is responsible for obtaining credit approval prior to closing. Engages with third party professionals (attorneys, accountants, etc.) in coordinating the drafting, collection, and review of documents and financial projections necessary to close the investments. Coordinates with asset managers in the transition of the investment to the asset management group for ongoing management throughout the term of the investment. Participates in the establishment of policies and procedures necessary for accomplishing the group's tasks.

Basic Qualifications

  • Typically Bachelor's degree and six or more years of related experience

OR

  • MBA/JD with three or more years of directly related experience

Preferred Skills/Experience

  • Understanding of tax credit investments and knowledge of regulatory and company risk policies

  • Knowledge/experience with real estate and operating business underwriting, construction finance, legal and real estate documentation, and accounting

  • Some knowledge of LIHTC, RETC, HTC and/or NMTC preferred

  • Well-developed analytical and problem-solving skills

  • Effective interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills

Location Expectations

The role offers a hybrid/flexible schedule, which means there's an in-office expectation of 3 or more days per week and the flexibility to work outside the office location for the other days.

The salary range reflects figures based on the primary location, which is listed first. The actual range for the role may differ based on the location of the role. In addition to salary, U.S. Bank offers a comprehensive benefits package, including incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase 401(k) contribution and pension (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). Pay Range: $108,375.00 - $127,500.00 - $140,250.00
