Eaton Corporation Sr. Quality Engineer in Los Angeles, California

Eaton’s IS AER FMC division is currently seeking a Sr. Quality Engineer. With 250 employees, the Los Angeles facility designs and manufactures quality valves, regulators, and other fluid controls used mostly by the Aerospace Industry.

The expected annual salary range for this role is $92287.53 - $135355.04 a year. Please note the salary information shown above is a general guideline only. Salaries are based upon candidate skills, experience, and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.

What you’ll do:

This position is responsible for performing Quality Engineering duties to support hydromechanical/Electromechanical products in fabrication, assembly, and test.

In this role you will:

  • Provides Quality Assurance support to Customer, and internal functions including Manufacturing, Assembly, and Test.

  • Work cross-functionally with Engineering, Operations, Customer and Suppliers.

  • Support internal non-conforming material control process, including Material Review Board (MRB).

  • Review and approve of product drawings, Acceptance Test Procedures (ATPs), manufacturing process plans and First Article Reports (FAIRs).

  • Oversee effective review, implementation, and flow down of Engineering Change Orders (ECOs) into manufacturing and supply chain.

  • Drive efficient processing of Customer RMAs, effective failure analysis, and responsive communication to Customers.

  • Support internal and Customer system, process, and product audits.

  • Develop and implement product quality plans, PFMEA and control plan.

  • Support product proof-of-build (POB) activities and assist in the evaluation and improvement of manufacturing processes.

  • Facilitate Fabrication and Sub-Assembly process improvement and RCCA activities.

  • Promote adherence to Eaton’s Quality Management System (AS9100), and drive process and product improvements.

  • Develop system for clear reporting and maintaining accuracy of data in support of department KPIs.

  • Develop methods to eliminate quality problems and improve manufacturing process through collaboration with Manufacturing Engineering, Supplier Quality, Supply Chain Management, and suppliers.

Qualifications:

Basic (Required) Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Quality, Manufacturing or Mechanical Engineering from an accredited institution.

  • Minimum of 3 years of progressive quality experience in aerospace, automotive or industrial manufacturing environment.

  • Strong Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing background (GD&T).

  • Minimum of three (3) years of experience with machining, inspection concepts and methodology.

  • This position requires use of information or access to hardware which is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). All applicants must be U.S. persons within the meaning of ITAR. ITAR defines a U.S. person as a U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident (i.e., 'Green Card Holder'), Political Asylee, or Refugee.

  • Must be authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship now or in the future.

  • No relocation benefit is offered for this position. Only candidates residing within the immediate geographical area of 90039 will be considered for this position.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of quality engineering disciplines & Manufacturing concepts.

  • Proficient in use of Microsoft Office.

  • Program solving techniques, such as 8D, Fishbone, 5-why, PFMEA.

  • ASQ Certified Quality Engineer (CQE).

  • Strong Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing background (GD&T).

  • Experience with machining concepts and methodology.

  • Knowledge of Six Sigma tools

  • Experience with complex machined materials.
