Zantech is looking for an upcoming talented Senior IT Systems Solution Architecture who is a good oral and written communicator. The person must have a broad knowledge and expertise in the subject matter and be able to act as a functional expert in the design and development of IT systems. This position Frequently works with the Information Assurance Specialist and Lead Programmer in developing solutions for problems.

Responsibilities include, but will not be limited to:

  • Develop, update and/or provide training for personnel by through multiple methods that include in person, online and ad hoc.

  • Assess, design, and conceptualize training scenarios, approaches, objectives, plans, tools, aids, curriculums.

  • Identify the best approach based on training requirements to include hardware, software, simulations, course assessment, examinations, computer assisted training.

  • Develop and revise training courses and materials.

  • Prepare and maintain training schedules and new course materials.

  • Update existing user manuals with application changes and new functionality.

  • Work with the entire team (Developers, Testers, Analysts and leadership) to understand new functionality and provide feedback regarding user interfaces.

  • Support the team through updating and writing SOPs and Documentation via technical and non-technical writing.

  • Attend meetings and prepare meeting minutes for delivery to the attendees.

  • Overview Abacus Technology is seeking a Systems Engineer to provide technical support for an enterprise environment supporting the Air National Guard at Andrews AFB. This is a full-time position. Responsibilities Provide technical support to system technical planning for installation personnel in support of ANG stakeholders. Provide technical support in planning and implementing future system interfaces. Review and make recommendations for the improvement of the system configuration management program and forward to the COR/NGB/A2/3/6/10W for review. Provide technical support for integration support in Directory Services and Authentication Service Area. Provide project and integration support for Enterprise Directory Services to include, the Active Directory (AD) architect, Domain Controller (DC) management, and Enterprise Application (EA) servers. Provide technical support for integration projects that impact the AD forest which includes management of:

  • Directory and Global Catalog, Organizational Units, Group Policies, Windows Internet Name Service (WINS), and Domain Name Service (DNS). Provide support in planning, exercise, and implementation of disaster recovery procedures in accordance with the signed Enterprise Disaster Recovery Plan provide by the Government. Provide Change Management Documentation, Status Reports, Technical Solutions, and Test Plans-Procedures on a continuous basis upon request by the Government. Provide technical support for integration support in the Storage and Virtualization Service Area. Provide integration support for VMware ESX virtual infrastructures and data storage solutions as required for specific platforms and enterprise applications (i.e., virtual infrastructures and provide as applicable, wing level virtual infrastructures, application configurations, schema management, permissions management, and data structure management). Provide technical support in activities involving deployment of new virtual infrastructures and the provisioning of virtual machines as required to ANG Enterprise locations. Provide Storage and Virtualization Change Management Documentation, Status Reports, Technical Solutions, and Test Plans-Procedures on a continuous basis upon request by the Government. Provide technical support on installing, configuring, troubleshooting and migration services for ANG enterprise collaboration system administration to include:

  • SQL, Enterprise Backup/Recovery, Search, Security, and SharePoint system administration based on the Microsoft Suite of Software currently in use. Provide all system documentation including processes for maintaining, supporting and configuring the ANG fielded services and forward to COR/NGB/A2/3/6/10W for review. Provide Collaboration Services Change Management Documentation, Status Reports, Technical Solutions and Test Plans-Procedures on a continuous basis upon request by the Government. Analyze and provide technical support in defining requirements, design, develop, install, configure, implement, and monitor the ANG segment of the AFNET. Provide technical support with the installation, and trouble-shooting of hardware and software to Wing plans and requirements stakeholders. Configure and troubleshoot Windows Server R2 Active Directory, Group Policy, and user/computer account issues. Configure hardware/software in accordance with DISA STIGs. Troubleshoot Kerberos authentication issues. Install, configure, and troubleshoot ESXi and vCenter issues, and Commvault media agents. Configure and troubleshoot standard and distributed vSwitches, SAN storage on an ESXi host. Install, configure, and troubleshoot SQL Server 2008 R2 infrastructure, and SQL server high availability features. Migrate SQL instances/database between SQL servers. Identify key issues/tasks, create and implement change management for projects. Review and analyze the implementation and migration of new technologies and develop recommendations for supporting the integration of ANG services into an integrated baseline and forward the recommendations to the COR/NGB/A2/3/6/10W for review. Use system tools and subsystems to support domain analyses, and manage hardware/software integration and support using formal specifications, data flow diagrams, and other accepted design techniques. Estimate integration costs and scheduled activities, review existing programs and assist in making refinements, reducing operating time and improve current techniques to the COR/NGB/A2/3/6/10W for review. Provide technical support in requirement analysis planning in support of the migration and integration of current legacy systems. Examine systems for the purpose of achieving long term, full-scale integration required for the Government. Develop options for process improvement to be submitted to the COR/NGB/A2/3/6/10W for review. Maintain and upgrade system capabilities as directed by the COR/NGB/A2/3/6/10W. Provide Data Flow Diagrams on a continuous basis upon request by the Government. Provide technical support in the requirements analysis, development and implementation of technical solutions to support internal cyber and space systems operations and business processes. Provide technical integration support for CONUS and OCONUS ANG stakeholders (i.e., coordinate with headquarters and installation personnel). Provide technical support in site surveys for fielding efforts to ensure the synchronization of required tasks (e.g., hardware, software and training schedule) and to identify deployment or employment risks. Conduct briefings and presentations at fielding sites for In-brief, and Out-brief with lessons learned. Provide a Fielding Support Site Survey Report on a continuous basis upon request by the Government. Provide technical and operational support to include network administration services, documentation maintenance, and routine system problem identification and correction. Provide technical support in technical aspects of system modifications, testing, installation and quality assurance. Provide a System Modification and Configuration Management Engineering Change Proposal (ECP) on a continuous basis upon request by the Government. Qualifications 8

  • years experience in systems engineering and infrastructure support. Bachelor's degree in a related field. Must hold the MCSA and Security

  • certifications. Thorough understanding of application software, operating systems, networks, storage platforms, and how they relate to system architecture. Experience working on each stage of the system development life cycle from initiation through deployment/sustainment. Demonstrated proficiency with process modeling and developing workflow diagrams. Able to elicit and interpret requirements and translate to technical specifications/system design following best practices and design patterns. Capable of performing:

  • problem/gap definition, trade space analysis, science and technology roadmap analysis, and cost versus capability trade off analysis. Able to communicate with management, technical staff, and end users in a clear and professional manner. Experience with engineering practices, techniques, and standards. Excellent oral and written communication skills with the ability to develop and present technical presentations. Able to represent complex data in diagrams or through other techniques that communicate precise information to both business and technical staff. Proven ability to understand the strategic and tactical approach to projects and handle multiple projects concurrently. Must be a US citizen and hold a current Secret clearance. Applicants selected will be subject to a U.S. government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. Applicants selected will be subject to the Federal mandate regarding vaccination for Federal government contractors.

Required Experience or Knowledge of the following technologies/functions:

  • B.A. or B.S. Degree.

  • Minimum of 10 years of equivalent experience in a related field.

  • DoD 8140 IAM level 3 (any of the following certifications: CISM, CISSP, GSLC, or CCISO)

  • Exceptional knowledge and skills with Microsoft Office Products.

  • Self-motivated with the ability to meet deadlines and manage changing priorities.

  • Proven ability to be flexible and work hard, both independently and in a team environment.

  • Excellent English oral and written communication skills.

  • High business and technical aptitude to learn new applications.

  • Strong interpersonal skills to work directly multiple contractor and government teams.

  • Strong self-motivation and organizational skills.

  • Experience with computer based training software.

Required Security Clearance:

  • US Citizenship and the ability to obtain and maintain an active DoD Secret or higher clearance, per contract requirements.
