Summary This job opportunity is for an AIRCRAFT PNEUDRAULIC SYSTEMS MECHANIC, position description D0097000, within the 108th MXS SQ of the New Jersey National Guard. This vacancy announcement is a Title 32, Excepted Service position. This technician position serves as a Pneudraulic Svstems Mechanic within a fuel systems shop responsible for inspection, repair and maintenance of aircraft fuel cells. Responsibilities As an AIRCRAFT PNEUDRAULIC SYSTEMS MECHANIC, WG-8268-10, you will: Perform leak checks of aircraft fuel systems by visual inspection or by removal of panels Repair, reassemble, and install fuel system components Perform operational and functional checks to insure proper operation Participate in various types of readiness evaluations Requirements Conditions of Employment Areas of Consideration: All permanent, on-board, Title 32 Employees within the New Jersey National Guard All New Jersey National Guard members (M-Day, Traditional, Active Guard Reserve, and Drill-Status Guardsmen) Individuals eligible for membership in the New Jersey National Guard Military Grades: E-3 to E-5 Compatible Military Assignments: 2A654 Selectee has one (1) year to obtain required AFSC Compatible military grade and assignment required prior to the effective date of placement. This is an excepted service position that requires membership in a compatible military assignment in the employing state's National Guard. Applicants who are not currently a member of the National Guard must be eligible for immediate membership. Additional Requirements: Participation in direct deposit is mandatory May be required to successfully complete a probationary period Federal employment suitability as determined by a background investigation Males born after 31 December 1959 must be registered for Selective Service Qualifications General Experience: Experience or training which demonstrates your knowledge of basic electrical and mechanical principles; knowledge of troubleshooting procedures used to isolate malfunctions in aircraft pneudraulic systems; and ability to use technical manuals, equipment specifications, and test calibration procedures in performing the work. Specialized Experience: Must at least 18 months of specialized experience which demonstrates basic electrical and mechanical principles. Fabricating fuel, oil, and vacuum hose lines Servicing, maintaining, disassembling assembling, repairing, and testing hydraulic and pneumatic systems Diagnosing trouble and determining remedies Mechanic repairs using hand tools and test equipment Demonstrating the ability to interpret technical manuals, specifications and publications Education There are no education requirements for this vacancy announcement Additional Information If you are a male applicant who was born after 12/31/1959 and are required to register under the Military Selective Service Act, the Defense Authorization Act of 1986 requires that you be registered or you are not eligible for appointment in this agency (https://www.sss.gov/RegVer/wfRegistration.aspx).
