SRS Distribution Inc. Manager, IT Asset Management in McKinney, Texas

As ITAM Manager, you will lead a team of IT Asset Management (ITAM) Analysts and ITAM Administrators, overseeing the strategic enhancement and efficient execution of IT Asset Management processes and lifecycles. Collaborating with the IT Management team and key stakeholders, you will play a pivotal role in refining and improving current IT Asset Management procedures. Your responsibilities include forecasting, tracking, and analyzing hardware asset refresh budget cycles, ensuring compliance through audits, and coordinating the disposal of excess IT hardware. With program oversight, you and your Team will log, track, and reallocate assets throughout their lifecycle, manage software license entitlements, and actively participate in Acquisition and Greenfield-related projects.

Strategic Process Enhancement:

  • Collaborate with the IT Management team and key stakeholders to refine and improve IT Asset Management processes and lifecycles.

    Knowledge Base Maintenance:

  • Develop and maintain knowledge base articles related to asset management processes and procedures.

    Budget Oversight:

  • Responsible for forecasting, tracking, and analyzing hardware asset refresh budget cycles.

    Compliance and Inventory Management:

  • Ensure proper tracking of IT asset inventory levels through compliance audits and physical inventories.

  • Coordinate the disposal of excess IT hardware acquired through M&A processes or assets no longer holding organizational value.

    Asset Lifecycle Management & Reporting:

  • Log, track, and reallocate assets in the ITAM system through all stages of the asset life cycle.

    Software License Management:

  • Track and maintain copies of software license entitlements, warranties, hardware, and software maintenance agreements for license compliance.

  • Assist with software license deployment and entitlement best practices, processes, and procedures.

  • Execute internal and vendor-driven software audits with stakeholders and vendors upon request.

  • Create and coordinate software inventory reporting for compliance, utilization, and budget-related functions.

  • Ensure timely review and budgeted renewal of software license subscriptions and maintenance.

    Support Requests and Security Reviews:

  • Assist with Support Requests submitted through established channels.

  • Review new software requests for security or compliance issues and make recommendations to the management team for approval.

    Project Collaboration:

  • Actively participate in Acquisition and Greenfield-related projects, collaborating with vendor partners to ensure order fulfillment timelines are met.

    Vendor Management Strategies

  • Lead vendor relationship management efforts, to include implementation of key initiatives such as vendor-driven imaging, reclamation, and automation initiatives.

    Education and Experience:

  • 3-5 years of IT asset management, inventory management, project coordination, or equivalent experience.

  • Previous experience managing IT hardware and software licensing.

  • Strong familiarity and technical competence with asset management software and/or inventory-tracking systems.

  • Experience with tools such as ServiceNow, SCCM/MECM, Intune, or other asset management platforms is preferred.

    Procurement and Contractual Competence:

  • Have experience with procurement, leasing, and payable procedures and applications.

  • Demonstrate the ability to read and interpret contractual agreements, software distribution practices, and asset data integrity procedures.

    Communication and Collaboration:

  • Possess excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Collaborate with managers within Asset Management and other departments to define requirements for acquiring devices and software.

    Organizational and Analytical Skills:

  • Be highly organized, motivated, and demonstrate the ability to think creatively, critically, and problem-solve.

  • Identify and present discrepancies logically to highly technical individuals to mitigate current or future issues.

    Interpersonal Skills:

  • Possess excellent interpersonal oral and written communication skills, communicating effectively with all levels of the organization and vendors.

  • Self-Motivation and Time Management:

  • Be self-motivated, meeting core position requirements with minimal direction and supervision.

  • Stay organized with strict attention to detail and meet critical deadlines within a high-volume, fast-paced environment.

    Technical Proficiency:

  • Be technically proficient with Microsoft Excel, including the use of formulas and pivot tables.

    Certificates and Licenses:
