Summary
Join us to build a next generation wearable control solution that allows users to control networks of driving, walking, and flying robots to complete mission objectives. At the heart of our control solution there's an AI module and battlefield router all rolled into one. In this role, you will help us develop a framework to allow third parties to host their AI algorithms. You will also enhance the networking capabilities to simplify kit setup, pull in data from various networks, and communicate with new types of robots. This role focuses on creating a third-party app store and SDK instead of developing the AI algorithms themselves. No AI development experience is required.
Position Responsibilities
· Works within a defined software life cycle development process
· Understands the requirements and process. Participates in software design reviews
· Creates software design documentation according to software process requirements and guidance from Senior Engineers
· Adheres to coding standard and process
· Write test procedures and automated tests to validate software
· Delivers work on time according to agreed completion dates and project schedule & budget
· Supports and derives algorithm design from detailed software requirements
· Works closely with multiple teams of software developers reusing developed software to support different programs
· Operates in a continuous learning environment under moderate supervision. Provides guidance and mentoring to less experienced engineers
· Other duties as assigned
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills & Experience)
Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Math, or Physics is required or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
5+ years of experience developing C++ and Python applications
Familiarity with network configuration protocols. Fast DDS experience preferred.
Experience with Linux OS and kernel development is preferred.
Experienced writing unit tests and debugging code
Experienced with formal and structured lifecycle development process
Experienced with Agile Software Development Process Management
Demonstrated mathematical and analytical skills
Demonstrated familiarity with Git
Willingness to travel locally (Occasionally)
Other Qualifications & Desired Competencies
Advanced degree is preferred
Demonstrates understanding of object-oriented design, data structures, database, and operating systems. A basic knowledge of networking is preferred
Demonstrates good judgment in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions
Demonstrates effective listening, questioning, clarifying and summarizing skills to effectively communicate in one-on-one and small group settings
Demonstrates understanding of system design that one is working on and understands the role that assigned tasks play in the system
Able to excel in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment, where small teams share a broad variety of duties
Displays strong initiative and drive to accomplish goals and meet company objectives
Takes ownership and responsibility for current and past work products
Is committed to learning from mistakes and driven to improve and enhance performance of oneself, others, and the company

Physical Demands
Ability to work in an office environment (Constant)

The salary range for this role is:
$91,354 - $137,030
