On-site days will be required (M, T, W for Milwaukee) What\'s the role? As a member of Northwestern Mutual\'s (NM) IT regulatory readiness and response team, you will play a crucial role in empowering our technology teams to confidently demonstrate compliance with a wide range of existing and emerging IT and cybersecurity regulations. In this role you will design and execute programs related to New York Department of Financial Services (NYDFS) Cybersecurity regulation, the National Association of Insurance Commissioners (NAIC) model data security law, and other risk and compliance initiatives. Your responsibilities will include cultivating relationships with IT process owners across the Technology function, serving as a consultant and advocate for teams adopting new requirements, providing executive leaders with support for required attestations, and monitoring the regulatory landscape for emerging topics. You\'ll hold yourself to a high standard, proactively working to attain/improve pertinent industry knowledge. Primary Duties and Responsibilities: Accountable for executing on large, sophisticated, and ambiguous IT efforts as part of the \'second line of defense\', Executing and evolving programs to meet cybersecurity regulation, including NYDFS cybersecurity regulation and Wisconsin Office of the Commissioner of Insurance (OCI) Insurance Data Security law, among others. Evaluating proposed IT regulations for applicability to NM\'s IT environment. Developing responses to examinations by regulators including the Security and Exchange Commission (SEC) and Office of the Comptroller of the Current (OCC), among others. Performing key responsibilities on IT topics related to internal controls over financial reporting (ICFR) which may include identification of IT risk and controls, identification of interface controls, or detailing data flow diagrams.
