  • This role will oversee KENT's e-commerce/omnichannel logistics and fulfillment operations function. The KENT digital business spans leading pureplay, major omnichannel, and a recently launched direct-to-consumer business.
  • The eCommerce function supports three KENT CPG operating companies with hundreds of leading brands and thousands of SKUs. This broad leadership role requires deep expertise in third-party fulfillment logistics functions, warehouse operations, order fulfillment, operational excellence, technology integration, and related key performance indicators.

PRIMARY DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Strategic Planning: Develop and implement a strategic plan for optimizing our e-commerce logistics, focusing on scalability, efficiency, and a zero error goal.
  • Third-Party Logistics (3PL): Play an essential role in researching, selecting, and managing 3PL service providers, governed by supply chain management, to achieve seamless fulfillment, efficient warehousing, and transportation.
  • Operational Excellence: Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance customer delivery experiences while reducing operational errors and costs.
  • E-commerce Platforms: Collaborating with various peer functions and teams, developing operational capabilities to support the various e-commerce business channels, ensuring compliance with Amazon Prime badge requirements, Seller Fulfilled Prime standards, and Direct Ship Vendor operations.
  • Inventory Management: In collaboration with the Supply Chain, Production, and Integrated Business Planning teams, support the inventory control processes to maintain accuracy and minimize opportunity losses from surplus or shortfall capacity.
  • Team Leadership: Build, mentor, and lead a high-performing ecosystem dedicated to operational excellence and customer satisfaction in this highly collaborative culture.
  • Data Analysis: Utilize data analytics to monitor key performance metrics and make data-driven decisions for driving operational excellence and improvements.
  • Cross-functional collaboration: Work closely with other departments and subject matter experts in customer service, information technology, and supply chain to optimize the technology and processes related to end-to-end e-commerce operations.
  • Vendor Relations: Strengthen and uphold relationships with third-party fulfillment logistics providers, suppliers, and technology service providers, operating within the framework of supply chain management.
  • Compliance and Best Practices: Ensure all e-commerce operations comply with legal regulations and industry best practices.
  • Perform other duties as assigned as the eCommerce function matures at Kent and as the workload or business needs change.

EDUCATION:

  • Bachelors degree required, preferably in Marketing, Business, Supply Chain, Operations or a related field

EXPERIENCE and QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in e-commerce operations management on the customer or service provider side.
  • Strong knowledge of e-commerce business models, fulfillment logistics, operations, warehouse management systems, and carrier management.
  • Experience with Amazon Prime badging requirements, Seller Fulfilled Prime, and other e-commerce business models.
  • Certification and familiarity with Lean Six Sigma, Kaizen, DMAIC, and root cause analysis practices to help drive process improvement and operational excellence are h ghly desired.
  • Excellent leadership, people management, team development, and influencing skills across functions and at all levels of an organization.
  • Strong strategic decision-making abilities, using critical thinking and reasoning to solve complex problems with simple solutions.
  • Exceptional negotiation skills with proficiency in data analysis and performance metrics to drive operational excellence and customer satisfaction.
  • Must have exceptional organization, presentation, analytical, strong attention to detail, oral and written communication skills to coach and promote ideas.
  • Goal-oriented and self-motivated with excellent time management and prioritization skills.
