ASRC Federal Holding Company Program/Project Planner Level 3 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma

ASRC Federal System Solutions supports the Federal Aviation Administration National Airspace System Engineering Support Services (FAA NAS ESS) contract. Join our growing team as a Program Project Planner Level 3 in support of the FAA’s AJW-143 team.

The AJW-143 team provides second level engineering support of the Airport Surveillance Radar (ASR); Air Traffic Control Beacon Interrogator (ATCBI); Surveillance Broadcast Services System (SBSS); Automatic Dependent Surveillance – Broadcast (ADS-B); Surveillance and Broadcast Services Monitor (SBSM); and Wide Area Multilateration (WAM).

Responsibilities:

  • The Program/Project Planner Level 3 support managers, engineers, and other planners/schedulers in the development and maintenance of project level schedules and a program level Integrated Master Schedule (IMS).

  • Utilizing MS Project, or similar tool, the candidate develops and manages multiple project level schedules and ensure that these project schedules are accurately incorporated into a higher-level Integrated Master Schedule (IMS). The IMS is developed and managed at various tiers (detail, intermediate, summary) for separate teams and will integrate team projects and resources.

  • Maintains weekly status, variance analysis, and delivers monthly reports.

  • Uses previous scheduling experience to integrate current team business processes and incorporate project information (resources, scope dictionaries, etc.) into the IMS.

  • Leads and maintains weekly status of the schedules.

  • Provides monthly status to Program Managers and identifies schedule status, critical path, coordinate schedule variance mitigation strategies. Other ad-hoc analyses may be required.

  • Must be able to work in a dynamic environment, and be flexible, independent, and proactive in their responsibilities.

  • Assists others in day-to-day operations.

  • Applies limited experience and detailed knowledge to plan and accomplish tasks.

  • Needs a broad understanding of how administrative assignments contribute to organizational activities.

  • Demonstrates considerable independence in planning time, and coordinates only as needed with a Technical Manager, or more experienced employee to prioritize assignments and use assigned resources.

  • Helps others plan and identify resources to accomplish projects/programs/tasks.

  • Works with other employees, both contract and federal, to share information, coordinate efforts, and discuss the status of assignments.

  • Typically works under limited instructions that are provided by a Technical Manager or more experienced employee.

  • May provide recommendations to improve work process.

  • Resolves most problems and work issues without the assistance of a Technical Manager or more experienced employee.

  • Identifies and informs others of problems/issues that require their attention and helps them develop and recommend solutions.

  • Provides guidance to lower level support staff members for handling routine problems and issues.

  • Work is reviewed periodically, typically through status reports and at completion, to ensure policy compliance and alignment with the requirements of projects and/or work activities.

  • Work activities typically support multiple projects/programs and contribute to the objectives of one or more organizational units.

Requirements :

US Citizenship or Permanent Residency required. All applicants must have resided in the United States for the past 3 years .

  • Skillful at resolving complex operational problems.

  • Excellent written and spoken communication.

  • Experience with NAS facilities, systems, and equipment is highly desirable.

  • Ability to pass an FAA background investigation (US Citizenship or Permanent Residency required).

Education/Experience:

  • A Bachelor Degree or higher is preferred.

  • Minimum 5 years work experience developing Integrated Master Schedules (IMS) within Microsoft Project or other industry-accepted tools used for scheduling is required.

  • Must have excellent computer skills and strong knowledge of Microsoft Project or similar tools.

  • Must possess a strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office products (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.).

  • Must have a strong background in industry scheduling best practices.

  • Experience with the FAA Earned Value Management System and Government Accountability Office (GAO) scheduling best practice guide is preferred.

  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is also beneficial, but not a necessity.

  • Must have strong verbal and written skills.

  • Must be able to effectively communicate with engineers and other maintainers of higher-level integrated master schedules on time.
