The School Programs and Education Coordinator will manage day-to-day operations of the USC Pacific Asia Museum’s School Tours and Distance Learning Programs as well as assist with other k-12 and education initiatives and events, including the Lunar New year Festival, Free 2nd Sunday program, USC PAM Teen Ambassadors Program, and Teacher Institute@PAM. This role is responsible for securing and scheduling schools for tours, scheduling transportation as part of the Free Bus Scholarship program, maintaining program supplies, communicating with teachers and teaching artists, collaborating with docents, managing volunteers, and other related tasks. The coordinator will be instrumental in supporting new school initiatives at the USC Fisher Museum of Art. This role reports to the Education and Engagement Manager.
Responsibilities
Schedule school and special request tours
Maintain and update tour applications
Secure bus transportation for select schools
Work with PUSD coordinators to schedule schools for My Masterpieces program
Communicate with teachers
Support docents in upholding tour content and quality
Assist Manager with docent training
Manage volunteer database and be point person for volunteer core
Maintain all calendars with tour information
Schedule teaching artists for tour workshops
Communicate with docents regarding tour scheduling and cancellation
Process vendor invoices
Order and maintain program supplies
Attend school outreach events
Foster relationships with schools, teachers, and the museum
Maintain surveys and collect program data
Assist with assembling materials for programs
Assist with USC PAM Teen Ambassadors Program, Lunar New year Festival, Free 2nd Sunday program
Assist other events as needed
Provide feedback and content support for Manager
Possible curriculum support
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in education, art history, museum studies, fine arts or a related field is preferred.
Minimum of 2 years of experience in museum/ arts education or non-profit coordination
Excellent, proven communication skills along with strong writing, verbal, and public speaking skills needed for interacting with educators, museum staff, and other constituents
Ability to work productively with diverse constituencies, including schools, community partners, and the public
Proven skill at assisting large and small-scale events and projects
Aptitude for detail and ability to work both independently as well as in a team setting
Proficiency in Microsoft Office is required.

Weekly Schedule:Full-time, in-person Tuesday-Friday, remote Monday optional, weekends as needed
The hourly rate range for this position is $23.33 - $25.27.
