Our Opportunity:

The Sr. Sales Manager will support the Managed Accounts, Alternative Investment and Structured Product Sales team to promote and support the usage of Separately Managed Accounts (SMA), Alternative Investments (AI) and Structured Products (SP) within the Advisor Services (RIA) channel. The individual will provide sales support and manager research as well as promoting Schwab’s MA, AI and SP Platforms with marketing and education about the strategies and products that are available.

What you’ll do:

  • Primarily focused on growing the usage of MA, AI and SP in the Advisor Services (RIA) channel

  • Serve as single point of contact for inquiries on complex products transitioning to Schwab

  • Support AS BDOs and MA-AI-SP Sales in converting opportunities by acting as liaison between RIA prospects, BDOs, transition consultants and other internal product groups

  • Conduct research with internal product groups and 3 rd party money management firms to determine options for desired MA-AI-SP strategies if not already available at Schwab

  • Assist in implementation of sales and marketing strategy to grow usage of MA, AI and SP platforms by RIAs that custody with Schwab

  • Build strong relationships with key channel partners including Regional Sales Leadership, Relationship Managers and Business Development Officers in Advisor Services as well as and Regional Bond Specialists

  • Meet with third party money managers in order to understand their investment philosophy and investment approach

  • Educate RIA’s on Schwab’s MA, AI and SP platforms and products (i.e. pricing, structure, custody)

  • Analyze pricing options for RIAs utilizing MA strategies (asset based vs transaction based pricing)

  • Deliver presentations on the MA-AI-SP platforms

  • Be a “subject matter expert” for internal partners from Advisor Services

What you have:

  • BA/BS Degree Required

  • CFA, CIMA, CAIA or CFP® (or in progress) would be a plus

  • 5+ years of experience in financial industry

  • Experience in investment sales or investment consulting a plus

  • Collaborative team player and self-starter, able to manage multiple projects at once

  • Exercises excellent independent decision making and problem solving skills

  • Proficiency in Zephyr Analytics, Informa PSN, Morningstar a plus

  • Superior verbal, quantitative, organizational, presentation and analytical skills

  • Some travel required

  • Preferred Qualifications: Series 7 and 66
