Banking & Trust Services (BTS) is the business enterprise within Schwab overseeing Charles Schwab Bank and the Charles Schwab trust companies. The BTS organization offers deposit, loan and trust products to Schwab clients who are looking for holistic wealth management solutions that complement their brokerage activities. The Bank’s Home Lending Product Management team is responsible for:
Managing and developing profitable mortgage and home equity products that foster increased loyalty from our clients
Driving profit improvement and revenue growth through sales channels, marketing programs, and cost controls;
Fostering an excellent end-to-end lending client experience
Tracking and measuring product performance and program effectiveness
What you’ll do:
The loan products are integral to the Bank’s success. As such, this role will be primarily responsible for leading Product Management efforts and initiatives across internal and external channels. The Loan Product Manager will be responsible for:
Working with 3rd party vendors in the loan origination process
Actively participating on project teams to represent the Bank Lending Product team
Helping to drive the strategic vision for Schwab's Lending Products group by proactively identifying opportunities to improve product penetration and the lending experience
Leading programs with cross-functional partners such as Credit Risk, Underwriting, External Vendors, Sales Administration, Marketing, Legal/Compliance, and Client Web Services
Providing analytical support of the Mortgage and Home Equity Line of Credit (HELOC) products for various Bank teams and partners
Assisting in the development of a multi-year roadmap for the Mortgage and HELOC products
Collaborating with Credit Risk and Underwriting departments on product development and updates including product launches, revamping, maintenance efforts
Maintaining and updating products’ pricing
What you have:
3 to 5 years relevant experience as product manager for mortgage and HELOC products
Bachelor’s Degree required; Advanced Degree preferred
Strong analytical skills. Ability to quickly analyze data to identify key insights and apply them to the business.
Experience developing and managing mortgage portfolio products
Strong knowledge of GSE lending products and process
Full knowledge of federal lending regulations
Understanding of general mortgage credit policy and underwriting process
Product pricing experience
Highly client-oriented with demonstrated product management, program leadership and implementation experience
Experience developing and implementing home lending marketing and promotional campaigns
Strong written and verbal communication skills, including ability to synthesize data, develop recommendations, influence partners and report on status
Ability to lead cross-functional teams and work efficiently in a matrix-oriented environment
Advanced level knowledge of the Microsoft suite of applications with emphasis on Excel and PowerPoint
Credit, underwriting and risk management experience a plus
