Advisor Services is the leading provider of custodial, trading, technology and practice management to registered independent advisory firms. We provide access to sophisticated wealth-management services that help advisors attract and retain affluent clients, as well as profitably grow, compete and succeed in their business efforts.

The Advisor Services Technology team is seeking an experienced full-stack web developer, ideally with both .NET and Java experience, to join our growing organization as the technical lead for one of our Agile project teams.

What you’ll do:

As a member of the Advisor Services Technology team, you will be immersed in a collaborative, innovative, and technically challenging environment. We're looking for leaders who are enthusiastic about learning new and existing technologies in order to provide exceptional software solutions.

As a Senior Developer you will be responsible for helping to deliver quality Advisor Services technology and software initiatives by:

  • Leading design, development, testing, deployment, and support for Advisor Services Trading applications

  • Supporting applications and systems in a production environment Reviewing requirements and translating them into a documented technical design •Interacting with individuals from across Schwab in different supporting organizations and business groups

  • Providing solid technical input to new business and technical requirements and partner with the business owners, architects, and Schwab governance boards to design and implement a solution

  • Designing and developing new applications and software updates in an enterprise software environment, using object-oriented analysis and design in one or more languages (Java, C#), to support business and technology initiatives

  • Supporting and enhancing new and existing applications across a variety of technologies and programming languages

  • Providing superior production support for advisors and internal users dependent upon our 24x7 applications by debugging, troubleshooting and resolving issues efficiently

What you have:

  • 7+ years of full stack application development experience

  • Bachelor's degree from 4-year accredited degree granting college or university is preferred, or equivalent experience

  • You will also have good and broad technical skills, with a practical knowledge of OOP and distributed environments: .net, XML, web services (SOAP and REST)

  • Have experience with one or more of the following RDBMS: Oracle, MS SQL, MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB and use of Splunk a plus

  • Have experience with CI/CD functionality

  • Must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Effective time management. Must be able to prioritize and multi-task effectively

  • Have a passion for problem solving, the ability to quickly learn new concepts, and must be able to interact with all levels of technical and business teams;

  • Proven ability to work independently or as an integral member of a team

  • Be a team player, self-motivated and able to work collaboratively across organizations and geographic locations

  • Experience with .Net C#, Java and Powerbuilder

  • Expereinece working with relational database management systems (RDBMS) with SQL and stored procedures (Oracle and MS SQL Server)

  • Exp[erience using TFS/Jira (or other agile work tracking systems)

  • Experiecne using Jenkins, Bamboo, BitBucket, NuGet

  • Experience using MS Project, Excel, Word, Visio
