Luminator is seeking to fill our full-time Applications Engineer, Software role to join our growing and dynamic Engineering team where you will be an integral part of the team by providing valuable input as we work toward assessing and implementing goals and mission of the department and Luminator.

The successful Applications Engineer, Software  candidate will be part of a team working to expand a strong and proven concept that has solid growth potential, with the opportunity to create substantial shareholder value. You will be responsible for working closely with software development team and field technical resources to verify and validate technical solutions and new product platforms in addition to providing engineering support to internal and external customers.  This role collaborates closely with the engineering team to provide technical expertise, support, and innovative solutions to our customers.  The successful candidate will have a strong background in .NET technologies and a proven track record of delivering high-quality software solutions.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

The successful candidate will have the ability to challenge the organization effectively, resolve problems, and willing to provide a hands-on approach in finding solutions.   • Provide hands-on investigation, failure analysis or root cause analysis of reported issues.

  • Establish and maintain application test systems that effectively represent the customer experience.

  • Utilize departmental issue tracking systems to manage workflow, assign issues and maintain real-time status of reported issues.

  • Publish application notes and Best-Known Methods (BKMs) to assure and improve system performance.

  • Analyze trends and publish KPIs for reported issues.

  • Collaborate with SW development team colleagues as needed to quickly resolve issues to satisfy internal and external customers.

  • Collaborate with DevOps teams to support CI/CD pipelines, automation, and infrastructure as code practices.

  • Provide expert-level technical support, troubleshoot complex issues, and escalate when necessary to ensure customer satisfaction.

  • Work with AWS and/or Azure cloud services to design and implement scalable and reliable cloud-based solutions.

  • Proficiency in container technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes) for application deployment and management.

  • Manage and maintain Windows server environments, ensuring optimal performance and security.

  • Collaborate with project managers, business analysts, and other stakeholders to understand project requirements and ensure software solutions meet business needs.

  • Conduct code reviews and provide feedback to other developers.

  • Troubleshoot and debug software issues, Write clean, maintainable, and efficient code.

  • Optimize applications for maximum speed and scalability.

  • Stay up-to-date with emerging trends in software development and .NET technologies.

  • Other duties as assigned.

    QUALIFICATIONS:

    The Applications Engineer, Software will be an experienced candidate who can successfully lead to scale for additional growth and maximize potential.

    This candidate will possess:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or related field required. Advanced degree preferred

  • 5+ years of experience in software development, or related field, using .NET technologies required. Experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.

  • Working knowledge of engineering change control methods including ECRs, ECOs, ECNs, etc.

  • Knowledge of industrial interconnect systems and methods.

  • Experience troubleshooting advanced multi-component systems.

  • Experience with Agile development methodologies.

  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.

  • Goal-oriented and possesses the ability to prioritize on a consistent basis in an ever-changing environment.

  • Excellent analytical, negotiation, organization and presentation skills.

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills; experience in effectively communicating key data, including presentations to senior management, Board members, Committee members or other outside partners.

    TECHNOLOGY SKILLS:

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications is required, including but not limited to Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Visio.

  • Prior experience with web-based Issue Tracking Systems such as Zendesk, JIRA or functional equivalent, preferred.

  • Working knowledge of networking protocols, preferred.

  • Proficient in C#, ASP.NET, and .NET framework, preferred.

  • Experience with MVC, Web API, and Entity Framework, preferred.

  • Familiarity with front-end technologies such as HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, preferred.

  • Understanding of system level power budgets including Inrush Current , preferred.

  • .NET Standard Framework and Kestrel & .NET.core, preferred

  • Web API & MVC, preferred

  • Angular & AngularJS, preferred

  • Node.Js / JQuery / JSON, preferred

  • Bootstrap, preferred

  • Microsoft SQL server , preferred

  • C++ / C#, preferred

  • Azure DevOps and/or Jira, preferred

  • Proficiency with CI/CD pipelines, preferred

  • Knowledge of Azure Cloud, preferred

  • Experience with front-end technologies such as JavaScript, HTML, and CSS, preferred

  • Familiarity with relational databases (e.g., SQL Server) , preferred

  • Experience with source control (e.g., Git), preferred

     

    OTHER KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • Knowledge of the practical application of engineering science and technology. This includes applying principles, techniques, procedures, and development of various software systems.

  • Ability to provide support for the deployment, monitoring, and maintenance of critical applications.

  • Ability to collaborate with development and operations teams to implement DevOps best practices and automation.

  • Ability to identify and resolve technical issues, ensuring minimal disruption to operations.

  • Ability to contribute to the enhancement and optimization of the DevOps pipeline and processes.

  • Ability to work with cloud-based infrastructure, such as AWS or Azure, to support application scalability and reliability.

  • Ability to maintain clear and comprehensive documentation of systems and processes.

  • Ability to assist in implementing security best practices to protect applications and data.

  • Ability to implement monitoring solutions to proactively identify and address potential issues.
