Radford University Site Director in Radford, Virginia
Job Summary:
The Site Director will lead efforts in expanding the strategic goals of Radford University in Southwest Virginia at the SVHEC in Abingdon; conduct needs assessment to identify potential programming, curricular offerings, and partnerships that elevate the University goals; report to the Vice President of Enrollment Management and Strategic Communications and work collaboratively with Academic Affairs and Advancement for outreach initiatives; actively recruit students for Radford University programs; serve as liaison for Radford University leadership for community boards and educational extension; manage the budget and allocated facility usage; engage with regional leaders to provide professional development and educational offerings.
Required Qualifications:
Commitment to community capacity and leadership development in South and Southwest Virginia with a focus on rural Appalachia.
Master’s degree in leadership, higher education administration, community engagement, or similar program required. Ph.D. strongly preferred.
Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders and to develop and maintain partnerships.
At least 10 years of progressive leadership and program-building experience in higher education
At least 3 years of experience in recruitment, enrollment, or outreach initiatives
Demonstrated ability to be entrepreneurial and to successfully develop and administer self-supporting programs.
Ability to be self-motivated and capable of simultaneously managing multiple priorities is required
Ability to manage complex cross-functional projects, prioritize tasks, and design and manage effective measurement processes.
Experience developing and managing budgets
Must be data-driven with strong qualitative and quantitative research experience.
Experience using web and social media platforms for content sharing and public communications.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience working with populations in rural Appalachia in a higher education context
Ability to conduct needs assessments and program evaluations
Proven experience with performance-based facilitation and intervention strategies (e.g. mentoring, coaching, goal setting, team building)
Online and open-source instructional design and program delivery experience
Strong knowledge of leadership, leadership development, and learning theories
Experience with teaching, presenting or publishing on leadership, community-engaged scholarship or professional development.
Experience with public service within a government office
