Robert Half Controller in Raleigh, North Carolina

Description We are offering an opportunity for a Controller to join our team in the retail industry, located in Raleigh, North Carolina. In this role, you will manage all aspects of the monthly financial close and reporting functions, monitor cash flows, participate in strategic planning & forecasting initiatives, and drive key initiatives to improve financial performance.

Responsibilities:

• Coordinate all general accounting activities for the monthly, quarterly, and year-end closing cycles.

• Resolve potential issues by working with customers and vendors, maintaining positive relationships and ensuring timeliness and accuracy of both payments and cash collections.

• Prepare all financial reporting, ensuring timely and accurate completion.

• Analyze financial results and/ or trends data to identify potential risks to the business and implement mitigation strategies.

• Establish and maintain an effective system of internal controls over financial transaction processing and reporting.

• Manage the banking and treasury functions for the company including forecasting cash flows and monitoring key working capital metrics.

• Partner with channel leaders and operations team to ensure a robust demand planning and forecasting process.

• Deliver ad hoc analysis, standard reports, and recommendations to the executive team and channel leaders, providing information vital to strategic decision-making and business growth initiatives.

• Assist in preparation for executive financial reviews, Board and investor reporting. Requirements • Minimum of 7 years of experience in a Controller role or similar position within the retail industry

• Demonstrated skills in budget processes, including planning, tracking, and analysis

• Proven ability to manage month-end close procedures, ensuring accurate and timely financial reports

• Strong understanding of internal control systems to mitigate risks and protect company assets

• Experience in financial reporting, including preparation and analysis of financial statements

• Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret financial data and make sound decisions

• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, to effectively communicate financial information to stakeholders

• Advanced proficiency in financial software programs and Microsoft Office Suite

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field is required; advanced degree or professional certification such as a CPA is preferred

• Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage and motivate a team

• High ethical standards and professional integrity

• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
