The AMERS region Security Project Delivery Program falls under Microsoft’s Data Center Physical Security (DCPS) organization in CO+I. This program is dedicated to delivering the most trustworthy and efficient physical security services to protect the personnel, infrastructure, data, and confidential information foundational to the Microsoft Cloud. DCPS is looking for a motivated, talented, executive-minded Security Principal Program Manager to lead high-profile and business critical projects involving physical security systems implementation, testing, commissioning and acceptance for our worldwide critical infrastructure including datacenters, leased collocations, and other types of facilities. This position is responsible for working directly with numerous internal and external teams, including architects, engineers, numerous security vendors, construction / project managers, and customers to ensure accurate and timely delivery of services across a wide array of stakeholders and priorities.

The Security Principal Program Manager will be an experienced team player, possess effective communication and collaboration skills, have the ability to determine the appropriate security systems solutions, and manage a demanding workload in the execution of multiple concurrent projects across geographic and organizational boundaries.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for implementing the design and specification of alarm systems, access control, video surveillance, burglary, radio systems and all other types of physical security equipment to achieve security program goals for special projects and initiatives.

  • Review, modify, and approve all security designs produced by external security vendors.

  • Oversee projects to ensure they are delivered in accordance with established baseline requirements and deadlines and within budget.

  • Document and improve work processes in order to make workflow more efficient and productive.

  • Collaborate across groups such as Datacenter Engineering, Datacenter Operations, Datacenter Development, Security Operations, Global Security and other internal and external groups to overcome challenges and deliver results.

  • Collaborate with internal staff (Security Project Managers) and external vendors to support project design through training, implementation and delivery, while maintaining currency with industry best practices and guidelines utilized by the Physical Security program.

  • Participate in project estimating processes as well as contribute to others budgeting processes for physical security system needs in other groups.

  • Contribute subject matter expertise to the research and recommendation of appropriate technical security systems (alarm, access, video, etc.) in conjunction with the Security Technology Team.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • 8+ years experience in Security Program or Program Management or related field.

  • 5+ years of site / construction management experience in the field.

  • 3+ years of experience in managing the deployment of physical security systems.

Other Requirements:

  • This role will require access to information that is controlled for export under export control regulations, potentially under the U.S. International Traffic in Arms Regulations or Export Administration Regulations, the EU Dual Use Regulation, and/or other export control regulations. As a condition of employment, the successful candidate will be required to provide proof of citizenship, U.S. permanent residency, or other protected status (e.g., under 8 U.S.C. § 1324b(a)(3)) for assessment of eligibility to access the export-controlled information. To meet this legal requirement, and as a condition of employment, the successful candidate’s citizenship will be verified with a valid passport.   • This position requires verification of citizenship due to citizenship-based legal restrictions. Preferred Qualifications:

  • Extensive knowledge of foundational security principles, including but not limited to alarm, access control, and video surveillance systems and their application along with the ability to develop conceptual and final designs of these systems.

  • Experience making and influencing decisions that impact mission-critical, 24x7 operations environments.

  • Ability to change plans, goals, actions, and priorities in response to an evolving business environment with awareness to operate as a champion for course corrections when necessary.

  • Direct experience in engineering, design, and installation of security systems in datacenters or other critical infrastructure environments.

  • Familiarity with physical security systems project management.

  • Experience, knowledge, and specific training in secure area construction (ICS/ICD 705)

  • PSP, CPP, PMP, or CSPM certifications.

  • BS or BA in security, engineering or related discipline, or equivalent experience.

Security M6 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $124,800 - $266,800 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $159,000 - $292,200 per year.
