General Description:

The Customer Account Representative develops and maintains strong partnerships with established and new customers. This team member will help grow and drive business by providing outstanding customer service in a quick sales cycle environment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Strengthen relationships with existing customer(s) and generate new and repeat sales by providing product and technical information in a timely manner.

  • Demonstrate success through positive contribution towards team efforts, including gross profit, gross profit percentages and tonnage.

  • Satisfy customer requirements and expectations, and earn new opportunity through incoming phone calls, faxes and emails from new or existing customer(s).

  • Follow pricing structure, company procedures, matrices, and minimums to achieve goals, while using best judgment based on market condition and industry intelligence.

  • Provide accurate information regarding availability of in-stock product, and recommend alternate

    products based on cost, availability or specifications.

  • Accurately process customer transactions, including orders, quotes, payment or returns.

  • Attend sales meetings, vendor training, or trade shows and read trade journals to remain current on consumer preferences.

  • Other duties may be assigned.

Education and/or Experience:

  • Associate’s Degree in business or related field; two to three years of metal industry experience, or a combination of education and experience.

  • Basic print reading experience preferred.

  • Ability to work in a team setting, amongst various departments.

  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize in a rapidly changing environment.

  • Must have strong mathematical skills and the ability to independently develop pricing for orders in compliance with company requirements.

  • Must have a high degree of written and verbal communication skills, problem solving abilities and sound judgment.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and the Internet.

  • Must be solutions oriented and have a high degree of ethics.
