JPMorgan Chase Compliance - Control Room Lead - Vice President in San Francisco, California

As a Control Room Lead in the San Francisco office of the Global Control Room, you will be responsible for maintaining the integrity of the Firm's information barriers by monitoring and controlling the flow of information between the Firm's private side and public side businesses. In addition, as a function of the Global Control Room you will track a wide array of often high-profile, investment banking transactions through the deal lifecycle to help ensure appropriate monitoring, reviews and restrictions are conducted or implemented in a timely manner. You should be comfortable working among a diverse group of professionals in a fast paced and often unpredictable environment, acting with sense of urgency to address the varied requests from the business units.

Job Responsibilities

  • Interact with the Banking, Sales and Trading and Asset Management teams to ensure the Firm's Watch and Restricted listed are properly maintained.

  • Review Research publications to ensure compliance with legal and regulatory obligations.

  • Chaperone communications between Research and Investment Banking to ensure compliance with the Research Settlement.

  • Provide advice and guidance to front office businesses in respect of permissible interaction with research analysts, pre-clearing permitted communications between them and chaperoning as necessary (Knowledge of the global research settlement).

  • Provide advice and guidance to the business in respect of the firm's watch & restricted list policy, research restrictions during advisory mandates and other Control Room-owned policies.

  • Provide training to various business areas in the specific areas of Control Room expertise

Required Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills

  • 3+ years of relevant Control Room or Banking/Research Compliance experience.

  • Ability to work as a member of a team in a high-pressure, fast-paced environment

  • Demonstrated ability to identify key issues and obtain appropriate information for further analysis

  • Must be highly analytical with experience in collecting, analyzing, and synthesizing information on various subjects

  • Ability to establish credibility and strong partnerships with senior business leaders, control functions, and corporate partners globally

  • Teamwork skills: you must be flexible in work style and be able to work appropriately with stakeholders and colleagues at all levels

  • Detail-oriented with ability to multitask, organize and prioritize

  • Must possess excellent written and oral communications skills

Preferred Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills

  • MBA or Bachelor's degree with professional certification preferred
