About the Role

Employs methods from Operations Research, Statistics and Machine Learning to solve problems for Gap by developing models or analyses. Communicates regularly to stakeholders to understand their analytical needs and present our findings. Codes in statistical and data programming languages such as Python and SQL. Collaborates with business partners to translate high impact business opportunities into analytic frameworks, business requirements, and plans to support model development. Collaborates and leads others in key initiatives and their implementation. Responsible for planning, budget, and end results; sets policies and strategic direction for area/team. Provides coaching and guidance for a team of Analysts and Managers. Telecommuting permissible from anywhere in the US.

Who You Are

Requirements : Master’s degree or foreign degree equivalent in Industrial Engineering, Operations Research, Statistics, or related field and five (5) years of progressive, post-baccalaureate experience in the job offered or related role.

Experience and/or education must include:

  • Knowledge of Statistics: statistical data analysis including cleaning and manipulating data, knowledge of regression techniques

  • Optimization methods used in operations research: using different operations research methods to solve inventory optimization problems.

  • Knowledge of price and revenue optimization models to drive optimal business outcomes

  • Python Programming language: Working with large data sets from different data sources – merging, cleansing, and filtering data as needed to prep for data analysis or modeling.

  • Database structured query software (SQL) and querying using SQL

  • Data Visualization tools like Tableau or Power BI for exploratory data analysis and to analyze model results.

Salary Range: $154,000 - $226,600 USD

Employee pay will vary based on factors such as qualifications, experience, skill level, competencies and work location. We will meet minimum wage or minimum of the pay range (whichever is higher) based on city, county and state requirements.
