Our Opportunity:

This position provides the right candidate with a unique opportunity to join the Central Finance Capital Planning team to develop P&L forecasts and support both the monthly forecasting process and the stress testing scenario design process for Schwab Bank and Trust Companies. The monthly forecasting process supports Schwab’s consolidated long range financial forecast, while stress scenario forecasting serves as a key input in how Schwab measures the adequacy of its capital position for regulatory-mandated Capital Stress Testing (i.e. Dodd Frank Act Stress Test (“DFAST”)). This position will work with key business partners at Schwab Bank and Trust Companies as well as across the Finance organization, including Treasury, Asset-Liability Management and Risk Management.

What you’ll do:

  • Model Schwab Bank and Trust Company revenues and expenses for the monthly forecast process and for both Federal Reserve-mandated and internally generated stress scenarios

  • Perform analyses on past, current, and proposed economic scenarios to develop forecasts for key revenue and expense drivers such as client accounts and deposit balances

  • Prepare presentation materials and analytics to support the review and discussion process for formal approval of Bank and Trust revenues, expenses, and key drivers with Senior Management and the Board of Directors

  • Work with the Regulatory Liaison Office in communicating with regulators on all Capital Stress Testing related topics

  • Develop and maintain documentation for all models to ensure management’s understanding of operation, purpose and outputs of models

  • Manage staff who will provide support for modeling, analysis, presentation and documentation

  • Participate in projects for new initiatives, process improvements or technology implementation and development

What you have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting or related field

  • 7+ years of business analysis experience

  • 5+ years developing and/or validating financial models

  • Expertise in Microsoft Excel is required

  • 2+ years of prior leadership and/or management experience

  • Strong communication skills, and proven track record of building effective working relationships with senior level business partners and internal / external stakeholders

  • Proactive, self-starter, able to manage and deliver multiple projects and succeed in a time-sensitive, fast-paced environment with minimal direction

  • Sound business judgement, attention to detail, and ability to deal with ambiguity


  • MBA or similar degree

  • Relevant experience in banking and financial services

  • Previous experience with CCAR/DFAST and/or regulatory capital reporting

  • Knowledge of IBM Cognos TM1 or similar database/OLAP tools

  • Working knowledge of statistical concepts
