Amazon Sr. Partner Solutions Architect - Enterprise Linux , Technology Partners - COE Tech in San Francisco, California

Description

Amazon Web Services is looking for a highly skilled Solutions Architect to join our Partner Solution Architecture team focused on IBM and Red Hat Solutions.

As a Solutions Architect, you will play a key role in helping to shape AWS strategy and drive adoption of our services across IBM and Red Hat customers worldwide. You will work closely with product teams to optimize and certify these partner solutions for AWS, while also supporting customer projects and developing technical content.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • 5+ years experience with open source enterprise solutions such as Linux, OpenStack, OpenShift, and Kubernetes

  • Expert technical skills across AWS services such as EC2, S3, RDS and network models like VPC

  • A track record of excellent customer/partner collaboration

  • Experience producing technical content for solution architectures

  • Proven ability to learn new technologies quickly

  • Background in any of the following: Cloud Architecture, Systems Design, Software Development, Infrastructure Architecture, Data Engineering or DevOps

Key job responsibilities

  • Developing certification and deployment guides to help customers run IBM/Red Hat workloads on AWS

  • Engaging directly with customers on projects to migrate or extend their infrastructure to AWS

  • Collaborating cross-functionally within AWS product teams and with our partners

  • Producing technical documentation, whitepapers, presentations and other solutions related content.

  • Staying on the cutting edge of technologies from AWS, IBM and Red Hat

A day in the life

You'll spend part of your day reviewing customer cases to identify opportunities to help build and migrate IBM and Red Hat workloads to AWS. This involves evaluating Red Hat and AWS product solutions and designing reference architectures for customer use.

You'll participate in consultative meetings, diving deep into technical discussions and sharing how Red Hat solutions can be implemented across the AWS platform to address business and technical requirements. Collaborations including proof-of-concept development with engineering teams.

You'll also work cross-functionally within AWS, coordinating with product management to optimize new and existing services for specific distribution workloads. You'll activate our broader partner network by participating in external events, like Summits and conferences by delivering technical sessions.

Basic Qualifications

  • 5+ years of IT development or implementation/consulting in the software or Internet industries experience

  • Bachelor's degree

  • Knowledge of software development tools and methodologies

Preferred Qualifications

  • 10+ years of infrastructure architecture, database architecture and networking experience

  • Knowledge of SAP systems (like SAP Business Suite, S/4HANA, SAP Business Warehouse, SAP HANA, SAP Business Objects, etc.) and their architecture and infrastructure needs

  • Experience working with end user or developer communities

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $122,900/year in our lowest geographic market up to $239,000/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
