The iOS Car Experience team gives customers smarter, safer ways to use iPhone in the car. We craft solutions like CarPlay and "Driving Focus", and we also partner with a broad multi-functional team inside Apple to deliver experiences such as digital car key. We work hand-in-hand with automakers worldwide to integrate features into nearly every new vehicle shipping today, features that drivers love and use every day. We are looking for a hardworking, highly motivated developer with 5 + years experience in application development to design and develop in-vehicle Apple experiences of the future.

Key Qualifications

• Comfortable with a large code base, dynamic working environments, and tight schedules

• Strong debugging and analytical skills

• Creativity and passion for design

• Experience developing apps using UIKit helpful

• Experience developing multi-threaded and/or multi-process systems using IPC is helpful

• Experience developing software with any of the following frameworks is a plus: CarPlay, CoreLocation, CoreMedia, MediaPlayer

Description

In this position, you will be responsible for implementing new features in existing applications, as well as developing sophisticated applications from top to bottom (user interface design to design and implementation of supporting frameworks). You’ll work closely with our design team crafting the user experiences our users depend every day. You’ll also deep dive into our code base, optimizing the size and performance of applications and frameworks. You will work well with the brightest minds in the industry and tackle some of the most fast paced problems.

Education & Experience

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science or equivalent experience

• At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $138,900 and $256,500, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.Apple employees also have the opportunity to become an Apple shareholder through participation in Apple’s discretionary employee stock programs.
