Robert Half Warehouse Assistant in Santa Maria, California

Description We are offering an opportunity for an Inventory Clerk to join our team located in Santa Maria, California. The role will involve assisting with the daily operations of our warehouse, including the distribution and collection of food donations, inventory control, and maintaining the cleanliness and sanitation of our facilities and equipment. This position offers a contract to hire employment opportunity.

Responsibilities:

• Enforce and carry out policies and procedures related to the position.

• Assist with the organization and placement of pallets in the warehouse and cooler/freezer.

• Support Partner Services in meeting delivery needs and scheduling options.

• Provide excellent customer service to agency representatives during their pick-up appointments.

• Accurately pick, stage, and field multiple orders throughout the day.

• Assist with inventory control activities, such as cycle counts.

• Participate in meetings related to workplace and food safety as well as organization-wide meetings and training.

• Pick up food donations from various locations for delivery to the Foodbank.

• Ensure all food and non-food items are handled, stored, and distributed in a safe and sanitary manner.

• Perform routine care and maintenance of Forklifts, Delivery Trucks, Buildings, and Grounds.

• Support periodic weekend and after-business-hour operations on a rotating assignment.

• Perform other duties as assigned to satisfactorily complete the organization's goals and objectives.

• Applicant must possess strong customer service skills

• Ability to manage and adhere to delivery schedules is essential

• Experience in shipping and receiving operations is preferred

• Understanding of shipping operations is a plus

• Candidates should be able to work independently and as part of a team

• Good communication and interpersonal skills are vital

• Basic computer skills, including proficiency with email and Microsoft Office, are needed

• Ability to maintain accurate and detailed inventory records is necessary

• Physical ability to lift and move heavy items may be required

• Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously

• High school diploma or equivalent education level is required.
