Alaska Marine Lines Chassis Mechanic - DF679 in Seattle, Washington

Alaska Marine Lines is looking for a skilled Chassis Mechanic to help maintain, modify, and repair chassis and trailers. This is a safety sensitive position. The ideal candidate can:

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

- - Perform routine repairs and adjustments on company owned equipment in compliance with manufacturers and company schedules, including diagnosing, repairing or replacing components.

- - Troubleshoot to identify problems, and then takes necessary measures to correct problems.

- - Inspect and test equipment at prescribed intervals of time and usage or upon malfunction or breakdown.

- - Apply knowledge and work experience in accordance with DOT, OSHA, EPA, and any other rules and regulations as required.

- - Identify, disassemble, inspect, and replace worn or broken parts. Fit and adjust new or repaired parts.

- - Document all repairs on work orders and other company documents.

- - Ability to perform FHWA yearly inspections of equipment that requires such inspections.

Notify users & managers of potentially dangerous equipment and corrective action taken.
