BRIEF POSITION SUMMARY:

The Solutions Consignment Program Specialist is a critical role responsible for the successful execution of customer consigned inventory solutions. Partners with both internal and external customers to align activities and expectations around the consigned solution. This position is responsible also for inventory management activities supporting the consigned inventory. To be successful in this role, the associate must be proficient with data analytics as it relates to customer’s everchanging business needs and to make recommendations that will support the customer’s and MSC initiatives.

DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Maintains accuracy and reconciliation of consigned inventory programs providing service, support and inventory management for both Usage and Replenishment accounts

  • Works with internal teams to ensure operational efficiencies and service levels meet and exceed customer expectations through strong customer service orientation with excellent follow up skills

  • Acts as a Trusted Advisor that delivers a superior customer experience to build customer trust and drive retention

  • Researches and reconciles inventory variances to ensure compliance with MSC inventory management policies

  • Manages invoicing of consigned product with close attention to alignment with customer expectations and requirements reconciling disbursements with the customers reporting

  • Analyzes customer inventory usage and maintains CFC and branch inventory demand levels to support usage

  • Responsible for maintaining the electronic data collection process that drives invoicing for consignment.

  • Facilitates account review and reconciliation activities to determine and make recommendations for continued inclusion of consigned items based on inventory turns and product availability status

  • Manages requests to add, change or delete items in both the vending and ISS systems maintaining alignment between both systems

  • Makes recommendations to sales team and customers for updates to consigned inventory item plan to keep the program aligned with contractual obligations and drive sales growth

  • Provides training for Field Service and Sales team, as well as customers, around proper inventory handling procedures at Solution site to ensure inventory management compliance

  • Manages return of consigned product back to MSC and all tracking activities to ensure product is received and accounted for

  • Effectively communicates initiatives between multiple contacts within a customer

  • Answers inbound customer calls and emails to process orders, troubleshoot issues, collaborates with vendors to source products, make product recommendations and provide general technical web-sync support and change requests

  • Works closely with management to ensure the most effective and lasting problem resolution

  • Resolves complex credit and collection issues to enhance customer service

  • Required to support elevated Service Level Agreement (SLA) requirements unique to consignment accounts

  • Participates in special projects and performs additional duties as required

  • Fosters the MSC Culture in the department and throughout the company to ensure fulfillment of MSC’s vision and unity of purpose

    EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE:

  • Associate degree or equivalent work experience is required

  • Minimum of two years customer service experience is required

  • Demonstrated ability to manage complex processes is required

  • Minimum of three years of Inventory Management experience required

  • Four years of Industry experience preferred

  • MSC Solutions experience is preferred

  • Experience with consignment is preferred

    SKILLS:

  • Strong problem solving, analytical and decision-making skills required

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills required

  • Strong customer focus required

  • Computer literacy and proficiency in Microsoft Office software including Excel and Word is required

  • AS400 knowledge and the ability to learn new applications preferred

  • Driver of execution, ability to work through complex situations

  • Must exhibit basic math skills and ability to organize and manage time appropriately

  • Ability to work independently, prioritize and re-prioritize activities, multi-task, interpret data, identify trends, formulate solutions and follow tasks to completion

  • Ability to be flexible and agile in response to non-standard customer requirements

    Compensation starting at $45010 - $70730 depending on experience.

    The salary range represented is based on similar roles in comparable industries, and the cost of labor in respective cities. Actual compensation is based on the candidate’s relevant experience, education requirements and peer pay equity. The Company reserves the right to modify the range as market conditions change.
