Valcor Engineering TECHNOLOGIST in Springfield, New Jersey

Performs assembly, subassembly and final assembly of the product. Instructs others in various assembly procedures. Sets up and performs product tests according to written procedures; records the resulting data and evaluates product performance.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Assist our engineering group in new product development and integration into production.

  • Work with his/her group on product improvement opportunities.

  • Develop and or assist in the writing of assembly procedures, test procedures and test reports

  • Recommends and /or develops assembly and test fixtures.

  • Operate lathes, milling machines, drill press, and other associated manufacturing machinery.

  • Works with outside labs for quoting and or testing capabilities.

  • Assist production assembly personnel with the transition of new product and or product improvements.

  • Meets agreed upon goals and objectives in a timely manner.

  • Interact with organizational team members and other departments in a professional manner.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Two year degree or certification in a related area or equivalent experience.

  • 5-10 years’ experience in a related technical area.

  • Familiarity with Assembly procedures, processes and tooling

  • A&P Certification is a must.

    REQUISITE SKILLS REQUIRED

  • Demonstrated effective verbal and written communication skills.

  • All work is performed under the minimum supervision of the Manager and/or Supervisor, as required.

    EQUIPIMENT/MACHINERY USED

  • Strong knowledge in hydraulic, pneumatic, electronic control systems, components and valves.

    PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Lifting up to 25lbs regularly, pushing, pulling, standing for long periods of time, manual dexterity, visual acuity, and typing.
