Compensation Range

Hourly: $25.70 - $30.30 (Amount based on relevant experience, skills, and competencies.)

About This Job

Commerce Bank’s Brand Marketing Communications Group includes public relations, brand content and social media teams responsible for achieving greater synergies between the marketing functions that create, reinforce and strengthen the Commerce Brand. The Group focuses on public/media relations, communications strategies, social media communication strategies, brand content marketing strategies, graphic design, video & creative solutions. This position will focus on public relations and have responsibility for providing marketing analytics.

Essential Functions

  • Draft proactive news releases and talking points with guidance

  • Monitor and enhance media resources on commercebank.com (media center and awards page).

  • Maintain brand communications training library with guidance

  • Help maintain reputational risk management and readiness policies with supervision

  • Serve as SME/technical expert for Workfront within the department, and for market submitters

  • Participate in low-risk, low reach brand reviews of co-marketing opportunities to ensure quality and consistency with the Commerce brand guidelines

  • Monitor and report on trending topics that could influence earned media efforts

  • Monitor and report on Commerce brand reputation and sentiment

  • Communicate opportunities to the Marketing team that inform and fulfill strategic objectives and goals

  • Perform other duties as assigned

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required

  • Basic understanding of PR/earned media best practices

  • Excellent copywriting, editing and proofreading skills

  • Ability to work on multiple projects at once, collaborate in a team environment, and interact directly with stakeholders

  • Strong professional demeanor

  • Motivated and organized self-starter with strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities

  • Inquisitive, agile and strong team player with excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills

  • Ability to remain adaptable and resilient to all situations with an optimistic outlook and cast a positive shadow that is aligned with our culture and Core Values

  • Intermediate level proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook & Teams

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Public Relations, Communications, Marketing, Journalism or related field or equivalent combination of education and experience required

  • 1+ years experience required

  • Experience with Google Analytics, SEO and social media metrics preferred

  • Financial services experience preferred

A reasonable estimate of the current base pay is $25.70 to $30.30 per hour.
