Saint Simons By-The-Sea Hospital is seeking a PRN Therapist for inpatient to assess and counsel patients regarding psychological or emotional problems and develop and implement therapeutic treatment plan.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following tasks:

  • Perform psychosocial assessments and compile all pertinent documents to facilitate treatment planning on assigned patients.

  • Participate in treatment team sessions with completion of all treatment plan updates.

  • Monitor the progress of all patients assigned and update treatment plan, as necessary.

  • Conduct group and/or individual sessions as assigned.

  • Perform group/individual therapy and document progress notes.

  • Respond to any emergency situation involving patients in treatment.

  • Participate as a team member by cooperating with staff and demonstrate compromise and expression of opinions as appropriate.

  • Utilize chain of command in all aspects of program and follows organizations policies and procedures.

  • Contact and schedule counseling sessions with family, significant others, and involved agencies as appropriate. Ensure that there is family contact within 72 hours.

  • Attend staff meetings and in-services as required and perform duties as a positive role model for clients and colleagues.

  • Accurately, and efficiently, assess patients' aftercare needs in collaboration with the patient, physician, and treatment team.

  • Provide patients with reasonable aftercare options and discuss each option in full with the patient individually, and/or with family as requested by the patient.

  • Collect releases of information to accurately research and refer to services.

  • Initiate contact with referral sources, community mental health providers, physicians, nursing homes, residential treatment facilities, halfwayhouses, and other placement options to facilitate continuity of care.

  • Schedules follow-up appointments with a psychiatrist and therapist within a reasonable time following discharge (Psychiatrist: 30 days and Therapist: 7 days).

    Qualifications

Job Requirements:

Licensed, or licensed eligible, Clinician in the state of GA.

Must have 1+ years related experience.

Experience in an inpatient setting preferred.

Knowledge of basic computer functions and ability to use Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Must be able to successfully perform in a fast-paced work environment
