Team/Role Overview

The Processing Risk Manager will be responsible for contributing to the design of a holistic framework to manage processing risk, ensuring we have a fit for purpose and agile framework that meets the evolving needs of a complex global banking organisation. The Processing Risk Manager will have a proficient level of understanding of banking operations and financial services transactions, transaction lifecycle, and industry-best practices related to sustainable process and control design and implementation.

The candidate is a strategic professional who stays abreast of developments within own field and contributes to directional strategy by considering their application in own job and the business. Requires basic commercial awareness, with strong communication and diplomacy skills in order to guide, influence and convince others. This role will have a significant impact on the area through complex deliverables that provides advice and counsel related to Processing Risk to stakeholders as required. The work impacts an entire area, which eventually affects the overall performance and effectiveness of the sub-function/job family.

What you’ll do

• Helps maintain and oversee the application of the Processing Risk Framework and governance processes to help create lasting solutions for minimising losses from failed internal processes, inadequate controls, and emerging risks related to Processing Risk.

• Independently assess’ compliance by the global businesses to the Processing Risk, working closely with team members globally to determine appropriate solutions to improve oversight and challenge.

• Serves as a subject matter expert for the Processing Risk Framework and associated governance practices.

• Has the ability to operate with a limited level of direct supervision, becoming a responsible owner for a range of core initiatives and aspects of Processing Risk policy.

• Possesses the ability to add value through the consideration of changes to the Policy Framework.

• Assist the Processing Risk team as needed with projects, associated critical reporting for internal and external stakeholders and other essential deliverables as needed.

What we’ll need from you

• Strong communication and stakeholder partnering skills, and an enthusiasm for getting to the root cause of an issue and finding a solution and/or improving current processes.

• Previous exposure either directly or indirectly to Processing Risk ideally, but operational risk more generally at a minimum, in either a 1ST or 2nd Line role.

• Can exercise independence of judgement and autonomy.

• Candidate should ideally have prior experience of any of the business areas at Citi and an understanding of associated key policies and requirements.

• Proven ability to work across a matrix organisation, managing issues effectively through to closure whilst working with colleagues in multiple time zones.

• Ability to work under pressure to tight deadlines when required.
