AWS Sales, Marketing, and Global Services (SMGS) is responsible for driving revenue, adoption, and growth from the largest and fastest growing small- and mid-market accounts to enterprise-level customers including public sector.

AWS is looking for an experienced technical leader for a Solutions Architecture team based in Canada. As a Manager of the team, within Amazon Web services (AWS), you will lead a team delivering customer success with our top SI, GSI, and ISV partners. This is a management position for someone who can develop and manage a team of top technical talent, establish relationships and set strategy at a senior level with Partner leaders and AWS internal teams, measure and deliver results, and also get involved in enabling and driving thought leadership.

We are looking for someone who possesses the deep technical skills as well as customer facing skills that will enable you to represent AWS supporting customers and partners. You should also have a demonstrated ability to think strategically about business, enterprise workloads, and new technology platforms and architectures. Understanding of AWS Technologies is desired but not required. You will get the opportunity to work directly with senior engineers at both strategic partners and AWS service teams.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Hire, on-board, train, and develop technically specialist Solutions Architects; you should be an exceptional builder of great people.

  • In partnership with business alliance teams, formulate and execute a customer-focused strategy to drive adoption of AWS services with partners.

  • Capture and share best-practice knowledge amongst the AWS solutions architect community.

  • Guide and prioritize the development of automations and mechanisms, wherever possible.

  • Own the technical strategy that will increase customer experience and adoption of Linux partner technologies on AWS.

  • Lead and set the technical strategy with AWS product teams.

  • Act as a conduit and liaison between partners, customers, service engineering teams and support teams.

This position can be based in Toronto, Vancouver, and Montreal.

Up to 30% travel is required.

Basic Qualifications

  • 10+ years of enterprise IT application work that includes at least 2 years of hands-on software development or DevOps engineering experience.

  • 2+ years of architecting/operating solutions built on any cloud service provider like Azure, AWS, GCP, OCI, etc. experience.

  • 8+ years of technology solutions development and evangelising end-to-end technology roadmaps that guide IT transformations toward cloud computing experience.

  • Experience leading and growing teams of senior technology professionals, ideally in customer facing roles.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience architecting, migrating, transforming or modernizing customer requirements to the cloud.
