About the Team:

You will be joining a global team of networking professionals, who are based in the UK and US. You will be based in London/Surrey. You will be supporting our global wide-area networks, connectivity to offices, office LAN and wireless networks, as well as network connectivity at our datacentres and to our cloud providers.

About the role:

Your tasks will vary month to month, and could involve troubleshooting existing environments, researching new technologies, setting up new office network connectivity (WAN, LAN, Wi-Fi, etc.), working as part of an acquisitions project team to integrate a newly acquired company. Having great attention to detail, and experience in running projects, is essential. There may be some international travel as work requires.

Responsibilities:

  • Supporting large Enterprise networks, global WANs, and regional office LAN/Wi-Fi implementations, that support a diverse set of products and a geographically disparate workforce.

  • Translating high level technical architectures and service design requirements into a clear and coherent low-level design.

  • Working with Security Engineering to plan and implement network security including building/maintaining firewalls, applying encryption, managing device security and other related items.

  • Understanding of the total cost ownership and lifecycle management of network assets.

  • Automating of manual tasks and seeking out efficiencies. (Ansible, Terraform). If you have heard the phrases “Network as Code” or “Infrastructure as Code”, you’ll have some idea of our direction.

  • Troubleshooting and problem management techniques of complex issues, performance and capacity reporting using various tools.

  • Understanding of of Incident and Problem Management, with ITIL processes, applied across multi-platform technologies.

  • Mentoring Junior Network Engineers

  • On call Duties.

    Requirements:

  • Able to work as an independent self-starter, working on your own initiative or equally as part of a global team.

  • Experience of market leading routing and switching vendors such as Cisco.

  • Experience of WAN connectivity, transport types and protocols, including Ethernet point to point and VPN technologies.

  • Experience of routing and tunnelling protocols including BGP, OSPF, EIGRP, IPSEC and GRE.

  • Experience of AWS/Azure / GCP cloud platform would be beneficial.

  • Experience of high availability protocols such ask VRRP, HSRP, LACP, PAGP.

  • Experience of network virtualization technologies including MPLS and knowledge of VPN and supporting technologies

  • Experience of QoS and NetFlow, particularly in respect to prioritising of network traffic.

  • Experience of Wireless technologies such as 802.11ac, Radius, PKI certificates/infrastructure.

  • Experience of Cisco ASA and Palo Alto firewalls.
