The WAND Hardware Platform Application Engineer is responsible for the technical enablement and support of Intel Data Centric processors and companion accelerator and communications adapter design-wins and design-in at Network and Communication Tier 1 and 2 OEMs, Telcom Service Providers Tier 2 customers in 5G, Telco Cloud, Edge, and Enterprise Network. The objective is to make IA (Intel Architecture) the leading architecture in OEMs and CoSPs, greatly enlarge Intel processors' market segment share (MSS) and revenue in these markets. Responsibilities will include but not be limited to:
Responsible for timely technical support and product Design-in, system power-on, debug and validation support of customer hardware platform designs
Answering customer technical questions during the design enabling and design-in phases of the platform
Perform schematic and layout review for customer designs
Providing technical training to Customers, Intel Field Application Engineers and Distributor-FAE's
Collaboration with Intel product related development team with respect to customer requirements and market dynamics
Contributes to the creation of technical documentation: EDS, PDG, User Guide, and App Notes
Provide on-site/on-demand technical support as needed
System level debug experience using a logical and methodical approach
Installation and maintenance of Intel SOC and ASIC Platform Validation Toolkit
Reproduce issues on Intel SOC and ASIC CRBs
Create/update customer support tickets as needed
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
BSEE or MSEE with more than 7 years of related Server or Embedded Platform Hardware Design, Applications Engineering and/or Intel IA Processor and Chipset Validation experience.
Intel architecture Motherboards
Experience with PCIe GEN3/4 add-in cards
Fundamental understanding of Intel Architecture Processors and Chipsets
Familiar with industry specifications such as I2C/I3C, SMBUS, SPI, USB, Ethernet, PCIe and DDR4/5 at a minimum
Experience with Python scripting environment
Experience with lab test equipment to support debug activities including electrical waveform capture and analysis
Ability to effectively communicate ideas and results.
Ability to work independently as well as collaborate in a team environment
Ability to travel
Preferred Qualifications
Embedded design development experience preferred
Understanding of Telco customer usage models regarding hardware platforms is a plus
Knowledge of platform testability architecture and tools i.e. JTAG/BDSL, etc.
Experience with System BIOS
Experience with HW Debuggers
Experience with customer system/board power-on (PO) activities include debug and issue root cause analysis
Familiarity with signal and power integrity concepts is a plus
Able to follow a logical and methodical approach to solve customer reported issues
Good interpersonal and presentation skills

Working Model
This role will be eligible for our hybrid work model which allows employees to split their time between working on-site at their assigned Intel site and off-site. In certain circumstances the work model may change to accommodate business needs.
