Texas A&M University Libraries is hiring a new Data Planning and Presentation Librarian (Associate) with a passion for curating research data and data visualization to join their team. This Associate Librarian will be responsible for ensuring compliance with university, funding agency, and government requirements, and facilitating all parts of the research data lifecycle. In addition, this position will ensure that research data are cataloged, discoverable, and preserved in accordance with requirements. Opportunities to Contribute:

  • Assist Principal Investigators (PIs) in designing and implementing data management plans that comply with sponsor agreements, regulations, and TAMU policies.

  • Advise PIs on compliance with data stewardship requirements, including sustainability, access, sharing of research data, and data management plans

  • Manage the institutional repository for archiving, access, and preservation of TAMU research data, ensuring security and proper metadata alignment

  • Collaborate with researchers, metadata librarians, and the Division of Research to facilitate the visualization, validation, sharing, and utilization of research data

  • Participate in scholarly activities and professional service for professional development and to incorporate new ideas and technologies into library services and programs

  • Service on campus and library committees and engage with campus units to advocate for Library presence in campus research initiatives

    Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in Library Science or related field with a tech focus, such as Management Information Systems (MIS)

  • Five (5) years of related work experience in a public, academic, or specialized library or archive

A well-qualified candidate for this position will also possess:

  • Knowledge of academic library functions

  • Ability to manage, plan, and organize overall unit and operations

  • Education or experience in working with research data

  • Experience of knowledge of business intelligence tools such as Tableau, Microsoft Power BI, SAP Business Objects, or Apache Superset

  • Basic web development and scripting skills

  • Experience with digital repository, database management, or library software

Starting Salary: $72,335.00 annually
