You will:

  • Work on a massively scalable data management system that performs stateful operations on petabytes of data and real-time segmentation.

  • Develop and maintain a next-generation cloud-based big data infrastructure for batch and streaming data applications and continuously improve performance, scalability, and availability.

  • Be a strong contributor to the product vision and team planning

  • Be data-driven and able to perform comprehensive data analysis to spot trends and troubleshoot issues using SQL

  • Partner with passionate software engineers, architects, and product managers to plan, design, build, test, and launch platform products.

  • You will parse, validate, normalize, and anonymize petabyte-scale data and convert it to a single format our downstream consumers understand.

  • Design, develop, and deploy scalable and efficient data pipelines using Java, Scala, and Spark to process and analyze large volumes of data.

  • Own product features from the development phase through to production deployment.

  • Evaluate big data technologies and prototype solutions to improve our data processing architecture.

  • Design and implement interfaces and infrastructure for large-volume services and RESTful APIs

  • Impact the entire product and engineering organization by leading technical discussions in the architecture board, evangelizing best practices, and mentoring engineers and engineering teams.

About you:

  • 8+ years of experience writing and deploying production code, of which at least 2+ years’ experience is working on Big Data processing and distributed systems.

  • 5+ years of experience working with Java or Scala.

  • Strong working knowledge of relational databases and query authoring (SQL).

  • 3+ years of experience using SQL (like Postgres or MySQL).

  • Passion for building large-scale systems and writing high-performance code.

  • Extensive knowledge and working experience with data processing platforms such as Hadoop, Spark, Hive, and Pig.

  • You have excellent data analytics skills and can explore and identify data issues.

  • 5+ years of big data design experience with technologies like Spark, Single Store, Snowflake, Kafka, and GCP big data technologies.

  • Experience implementing Docker for Containerization and Kubernetes for orchestration.

  • You have a strong knowledge of system design, application design, and architecture.

  • You love mentoring junior engineers and implementing best practices.

  • Experience documenting and demonstrating solutions by developing documentation, flowcharts, layouts, diagrams, charts, code comments, and clear code.

Bonus Points:

  • AdTech & Forecasting or targeting experience

  • Strong working knowledge of SingleStore (MEMSQL) database

  • Experience with stream processing - Spark streaming, Apache Kafka, Apache Storm, Flink

  • Experience with modern datastores such as MongoDB, Cassandra, Riak, Azure Cosmos DB, Aerospike

  • Experience as a formal tech lead

The approximate annual base compensation range is $xxxx to $xxxxx.
