Robert Half Accountant in Waite Park, Minnesota

Description We are offering a contract to hire employment opportunity for an Accountant in the retail industry, located in Waite Park, Minnesota, 56387, United States. The successful candidate will be responsible for a range of duties, from processing customer credit applications to maintaining accurate records and ensuring timely payments.

Responsibilities:

• Process daily check runs

• Conduct bank reconciliations

• Record cash receipts and deposits

• Enter and code expenses, ensuring they are paid on time

• Enter payroll entries into the general ledger

• Ensure subcontractors have the necessary insurance before processing payments

• Process credit card payments and match with receipts

• Manage billing and job costing

• Prepare sales and use tax reports monthly

• Maintain monthly builders club points and carpet one rebates

• Conduct month-end close procedures, ensuring all records are accurate

• Answer phones and take payments as needed.

Skills:

• Experience with Accounts Payable (AP)

• Knowledge of Sales & Use Tax

• Familiarity with General Ledger operations

• Proficiency in MS Excel

• Experience with S-Corps

• Understanding of Month End Close procedures

• Job Costing abilities

• Experience with Daily Cash Receipts and Cash Deposits

• Ability to handle Answering Inbound Calls

• Experience with Collecting Payments

• Knowledge of Credit Card Payments

• Billing expertise. Requirements • Candidate must have at least 2 years of experience in the accounting field, ideally within the retail industry

• Proficiency in Accounts Payable (AP) is essential

• Experience with Sales & Use Tax is required

• Familiarity with General Ledger operations is necessary

• Proficiency in MS Excel is needed for data analysis and reporting

• Knowledge of S-Corps tax structures is beneficial

• Experience with Month End Close procedures is required

• Prior experience with Job Cost accounting is desirable

• Daily Cash Receipts management skills are necessary

• Experience with Cash Deposits is beneficial

• Ability to handle Answering Inbound Calls professionally

• Experience with Collecting Payments and managing Credit Card Payments is needed

• Proficiency in Billing procedures and systems is required
