IT Support Specialist

ATS Scientific Productsis expanding our team and has an immediate opening for an IT Support Specialist!

What you will do:

  • Test, maintain, and monitor computer programs and systems, including coordinating the installation of computer programs and systems.

  • Performs Help Desk support functions including imaging, computer upgrades, software installations, audio/visual support, and inventory management.

  • Field phone calls and e-mail from employees seeking guidance. Answers inquiries concerning system operation; diagnoses system hardware, software, and operator problems; and recommends or performs remedial actions to correct problems based on knowledge.

  • Performs a variety of network support tasks including account setup and maintenance, anti-virus and patch management, data backup and restoration, performance monitoring and tuning, and cable terminations.

  • Work closely with colleagues, developers, testers, and a variety of end users to ensure technical compatibility and user satisfaction.

  • Train staff and users to work with computer systems and programs by interpreting operating instructions, answering questions, and providing reference materials.

  • Contributes to the team effort by performing all required tasks in support of department goals and objectives as needed.

  • Stay abreast of technical and industry developments by attending educational workshops, reviewing technical manuals, etc…

  • Additional responsibilities as required.

Qualifications:

  • Associate or bachelor’s degree in a computer technology field is desirable but not required.

  • MCP, A+ or N+ certification is desirable but not required.

  • 0-5 years of experience in Help Desk support configuring, upgrading, and repairing desktops, laptops, and associated hardware,

  • Ability to work with technical and non-technical team members

  • 0-3 years of experience in troubleshooting Microsoft Windows Operating Systems, Microsoft Office Applications, and Active Directory,

  • Strong problem-solving skills

  • Working knowledge of backup/restore methods and computer image deployment.

  • Ability to learn and adopt new concepts and technologies.

  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills as well as oral and written communication skills.

  • 20% Travel to our MD site as needed in performance of job duties between business locations and to attend meetings/training outside the company as requested.
