As a Database Developer and Analyst, you will be immersed in a collaborative, innovative, and technically challenging environment. You will be responsible for database development, data analysis of Oracle and Mongo data, ETL development using tools like Informatica or Pivotal Spring Data Flow, ensuring data quality between source and target systems, analytics (e.g. Tableau) and data modeling.We're looking for team members that are eager to learn and implement new technologies and provide outstanding database solutions.
What you’ll do:
As a Database Developer and Analyst, you will be responsible for helping to deliver quality technology and software initiatives by:
Participating in data architecture and data integration design discussions
Collaborating with business partners on data issues
Partnering with application developers on designs, models and best in class implementation taking into account non-functional requirements
Interacting with experts from across Schwab in different support organizations and business groups
Being a member of Agile team(s) that focuses on delivering what the client needs
Leading design and development of data quality and data drift detection software
Implementing data integration ETL in Informatica and Spring Data Flow
Using data quality analysis tools and producing reports as needed
Providing production support for data issues, including data fixes across platforms
Engaged in efforts to analyze data models, data interfaces, and dependencies of the current data platform.
Working closely with DBAs, data analysts, developers, and production support to identify and fix data issues that cross platforms.
What you have:
As a team member you will have the following skills and experience:
Strong understanding of database concepts and development technologies (ideally both SQL and No SQL)
Excellent problem solving and troubleshooting skills, coupled with a desire to take on responsibilities; solutions oriented
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to explain complex data issues in business terminology
Ability to effectively handle multiple, competing, high-priority projects with varying deadlines
Experience interfacing with business partners at various levels
Demonstrated ability to understand the business functions that data supports
Ability to work independently as a member of an Agile scrum team
Track record of being detailed oriented; a self-starter having deliverables with minimal defects
Demonstrated experience with data modeling and performance tuning of Oracle SQL queries
Demonstrated experience with Mongo DB.
Must be able to quickly grasp complex concepts and learn new technologies
Experience supporting production operations in a high-availability environment
Be a role model and a leader on the team
Bachelor degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering or a related field
Strong database development skills gained through 3+ years hands on experience with relational database development using stored procedures, PL/SQL, and SQL primarily in Oracle
Development experience in a No SQL database environment, preferably with MongoDB
Experience in working with high volume production systems in multi data center distributed environments
Extensive experience writing complex SQL to identify data quality and synchronization issues
Proficiency in performance tuning using explain plans and baselines
Prior experience with Informatica Power Center and/or Spring Data Flow desired
Prior experience with Unix/Linux Shell scripting (Korn Shell (KSH), BASH, etc.) required
Prior experience with data quality tools like Informatica DVO or Oracle EDQ desired
Prior experience with job scheduling systems (ESP, Autosys, Cron, etc.) a plus
Prior experience with object oriented languages like Java or C# or Apex a plus
Experience working with a CRM system, like Salesforce.com a plus
Prior experience with Hadoop a plus
Prior experience with Splunk a plus
Prior exposure to the financial industry a plus
Prior Agile development experience highly desired
