Our Opportunity:

The Corporate Systems (cSyS) team in Charles Schwab’s IT organization is looking for a motivated and experienced Senior Developer for our Treasury business applications. Working closely with the various business teams, this position will assist with the enhancement and advancement of Schwab internal solutions including vendorpackages, internally-developed software, and SaaS applications for the Capital Markets, Mid-Office, Cash Management, Treasury Finance, and Liquidity Management business areas. The Sr. Developer will work on various projects and take on a leadership role in developing the evolution of our foundational platforms and software solutions.

What you’ll do:

  • Take point on critical project, enhancement and other development endeavors

  • Engage with variety of staff: BSAs, Product Owners, Developers, QA, Management

  • Build and maintain strong relationships and partnerships with team members and stakeholders

  • Lead and promote the Scrum Teams and overall Agile maturity efforts

  • Provide direct mentorship to the junior developers on the team

  • Aid in delivering technical strategies and solutions, application development, and end-user services

  • See the big picture but also navigate the details

  • Work collaboratively as a team player to develop mutually acceptable solutions

  • Solve problems and provide support, taking responsibility to make decisions when appropriate

  • Take on diverse set of projects and tasks

  • Provide crisp and well-understood directives and communication

  • Communicate on a technical and non-technical level to all levels of staff and management

  • Track and manage dependencies across lines of business and platforms

  • Understand applications from a technical and business perspective

  • Thrive in a fast-paced and dynamic work environment and lead by example

What you have:

  • Highly skilled and experienced with distributed technologies , primarily C# /.Net, Java and SQL

  • In depth data mapping, database design and database optimization experience

  • Continuous Integration skills a plus, including Bitbucket/Bamboo automated build/deploy solutions

  • Experience with cloud-ready platforms such Pivotal Cloud Foundry

  • A track record identifying and managing issues, risks and dependencies

  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills

  • Excellent relationship management and mediation skills, with a knack for weighing multiple stakeholder perspectives and driving timely and effective decision-making

  • Strong interpersonal, analytical, problem-solving, prioritization, organization, decision-making, and influencing skills

  • Familiarity with the financial services domain or a strong desire to learn about the industry

  • Experience in an Agile development environment desired

  • Team player with strong collaborative qualities and a positive demeanor

  • Ability/desire to listen and encourage thoughts, opinions and discussions where needed
