Job Description:

The Senior Manager, Planning & Analytics is tasked with leading the team responsible for the planning and forecasting of energy management obligations and resources. This role oversees the execution of load, resource and other energy management financial forecasting inputs for purposes of producing intermediate and long-term financial forecasts, annual budgets, risk measures and long-term resource plans. The successful candidate will work closely with other Energy Management leadership roles to support regulatory efforts, maintain strict standards for system reliability and closely monitor affordability and responsibility metrics.

Senior Manager Planning & Analytics

Hiring Salary Range: $141,000-$239,000

Actual compensation offer to candidate may vary outside of the posted hiring salary range based upon work experience, education, and/or skill level.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee resource planning and forecasting, providing leadership in resource management, project management, quality assurance and regulatory responsiveness.

  • Oversee the recruitment, training, and development of department staff, including full-time employees, contingent workers, and consultants.

  • Oversee the development, implementation and maintenance of planning and forecasting procedures, ensuring adherence to best practices with necessary change management guidelines.

  • Direct planning and forecasting processes and internal and external reporting in adherence with industry compliance programs and state and federal regulatory and legislative requirements.

  • Coordinate cross-functionally efforts for budgeting, forecasting, and planning with departments such as Regulatory, Financial Planning & Analysis, Energy Resources, Energy Markets, Generation, Transmission Planning as others to facilitate accurate and comprehensive forecasts and plans.

  • Coordinate the development of reliability, affordability and responsibility metrics with Energy Management leadership and direct the implementation of processes to meet those metrics withing planning and forecasting.

  • Maintain compliance with all company policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements, ensuring continuous, reliable electric service.

  • Oversee the recruitment, training, and development of department staff, including full-time employees, contingent workers, and consultants.

  • Attain knowledge and remain knowledgeable of development in regulations, laws, standards and best practices applicable to the functional area including, but not limited to, Standards of Conduct, Environmental, Employment Law, NERC Reliability Standards and Safety. Must be familiar with, and comply with, all aspects of Corporate Policy C-54, Compliance.

Qualifications:

Education and Training:

  • BS/BA in Engineering, Business or related discipline, or equivalent combination of experience and education.

Knowledge, Skills, and Ability:

  • Proven experience in leading, supervising and managing complex projects within cross-functional teams.

  • Ability to analyze complex regulatory, financial and technical information and to develop related solutions.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to serve as a liaison between multiple departments and external stakeholders.

  • General knowledge of regional markets and transmission systems, including the effects of developing organized markets.

  • Working knowledge of power system and generation economic modeling.

  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships both internal and external.

  • Ability to communicate effectively, both verbal and written.

  • Must be able to demonstrate that he or she can perform all essential functions of the position.

Other:

  • Willingness to travel when needed to attend training, conferences and meetings. (Must possess a valid driver’s license.)

DESIRED JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Five years of experience in managing complex, deadline driven projects or initiatives with a diverse set of stakeholders.
