WSP USA Applications Support Specialist: Engineering Applications in Wichita, Kansas

This Opportunity

The Federal Cloud Operations Team is looking for an Applications Support Specialist to assist our architecture and engineering project teams to carry out work on behalf of the U.S. Government. This individual will help users resolve issues with their CAD/BIM software. Additionally, this user will be trained to package and deploy software to users’ virtual workstations and maintain the software catalog.

The ideal candidate will be a self-starter with strong customer support skills, experience with CAD/BIM tools, as well as the curiosity and desire to deepen their technical skillset to cover more tools, scenarios, and issues that may arise in the Federal Cloud. This candidate can be located out of any mutually agreed office or remote .

Your Impact

  • Providing support for CAD/BIM and engineering software applications

  • Creating and deploying software packages to virtual desktops

  • Troubleshooting issues

  • Coordinating and communicating support between multiple vendors to address customer issues

  • Evaluating and testing CAD/BIM software features and their compatibility with project requirements

  • Developing workflows

  • Educating staff relative to the entire Federal CAD/BIM and Engineering environment

  • Communicating with and supporting end users in a remote environment

  • Providing guidance, documentation and partnership for design staff, CAD/BIM Managers, and IT staff in relation to best practices and procedures for CAD/BIM and Engineering applications

  • Performing analysis, requirements gathering, design, development, documentation, and support of software

Who You Are

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent in IT, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field, or at least 3 years of production and project work experience in a similar role

  • 1-3 years experience in engineering applications

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively to solve problems and advance the team’s goals

  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines

  • Foundational knowledge of Microsoft Azure

  • Experience with or moderate understanding of:

  • Windows 10/11 and Windows Server

  • Software packaging

  • Service delivery systems

  • Strong English language written and verbal communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • At least three years’ experience supporting Engineering Applications in a production environment

  • Knowledge of PowerShell or similar tool for application installation

  • Experience with or moderate understanding of

  • Microsoft Azure virtual desktops

  • Multi-domain environments

Compensation

Expected Salary (all locations): $60,000 - $110,000

WSP USA is providing the compensation range that the company in good faith believes it might pay and offer for this position, based on the successful applicant’s education, experience, knowledge, skills, abilities in addition to internal equity and specific geographic location. WSP USA reserves the right to ultimately pay more or less than the posted range and offer additional benefits and other compensation, depending on circumstances not related to an applicant’s sex or other status protected by local, state, and/or federal law.

Expected Salary (Colorado only): $60,000 - $107,000

WSP USA is providing the compensation range that the company in good faith believes it might pay and/or offer for this position within the state of Colorado, based on the successful applicant’s education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities in addition to internal equity and specific geographic location. WSP USA reserves the right to ultimately pay more or less than the posted range and offer additional benefits and other compensation, depending on circumstances not related to an applicant’s sex or other status protected by local, state, and/or federal law.
